Hello! Day 2 of week 2's staycation - slept in ridiculously long, because I stayed up ridiculously late, and loving the fluffies stories :)

  • Ewwwww - I have just cleared out an outside drain. I tell you I am worth my weight in gold - Mr Thrifty is a lucky man :rotfl:.

Life's tough for dd at the moment ;) - she asked at her Saturday job if there was any extra hours for the summer only to be told that they have to let her go in two weeks to cut costs - oops. That added to the fact that we are not going on holiday and she is walking about like an injured martyr :rotfl:. She doesn't want to hear that she is gaining skills and life experience that will help when she's older. The trials of being 16.

Right ho - back to it.

    Hi all

Greenbee good luck with today's hospital appointment and hope the OH is being more understanding and supportive now.

Mad day here with loads of errands to run but I am being very disciplined and sticking to the tasks at hand and getting the kids to help a bit too.

Looking forward to being on holiday and having some 'head space' to plot and plan.

I am rattling through my new writing project - aided greatly by the fact that both kids are glued to the kitchen table making creatures from the blue, green, red, yellow, white and grey playdough I made this morning- its like Aardman Creations in my house today:rotfl::rotfl:

Remind me to wear latex gloves the next time I do a batch though - my hands are a sight:D

Think I am due a cup of coffee now - then I am off to find a camera to record these wonderful creations.

Hmm...I think I might have strayed into 'advanced procrastination tactics' territory.

    So far I have made:

1 loaf of normal white bread
    6 loaves of soda bread
1 big batch of lentil and vegetable soup

Oh, and my batch of home-made air fresheners that I made yesterday have set.

Avoiding my CV much? Better get cracking...
  • Homemade air fresheners - do share Sunflower but only after you have tackled that cv my lass:naughty::naughty::naughty:

A new writing project - sounds like things are going great guns MG .

Well before lunch I cleaned the outside door and front room window and surround. Just having a cuppa before I tackle the porch soffit, fascia and guttering. It's a lovely day here, so it is nice being outside in the sun even if I am cleaning.

Note to self (and anyone else who's interested) - don't leave everything so bl**dy long (talking years here) before cleaning, replacing, decorating, etc. It has to be easier if you keep doing little and often - either that or just keep your head in the sand and ignore it, like I did for all those years  :rotfl:.

Sunflower, please tear your todo list into several pieces and throw into bin. Then take one clean piece of paper. Write on paper: CV!!! and nothing else. You have no other tasks you need to see to until that toad has been well and truly nibbled.

Just tidying my room and I've had a red plant pot by the side of my bed for two years and I've just found nail varnish, chewing gum, glittery eyeliner and other kinds of rubbish in there! Will now be using the plant pot for an orchid I bought mum last year...
