So how many of you knew there were five different kinds of crossings?
Zebra, Pelican, Puffin, Toucan, Pegasus. But which one is especially to allow horses to cross and which one allows pedestrians and cyclists to cross together?

By the names I'd go Pegasus for horse (don't know what it looks like) and Toucan (two can) for bikes and people.

Puffin/Pelican does one beep and the other just have a green man?

    Glad you enjoyed it.

Moths - I've defuzzed and darned and the holes are in almost identical places - top of right arm about 3-4" from pit underside - I'm wondering if it is the straps of a shoulder bag causing it as it is my bag carrying arm - I really hope this is the case, much easier to deal with :rotfl:

Evening all. Dora, wow what a present. How close to getting the wall does that bring you?

Means we can go ahead with wall at the end of summer using our rainy day savings money. Want to let the kids have a fab summer playing in the garden and clear garage to put all stuff in while work is being done.

Greenbee - Moths - still not sure if I have them, not seen a single one and nothing obvious in the wardrobe - it is only my clothes affected and only stuff which is cotton or wool. In case I do - how long do I have to freeze clothes for? Where can I buy the Doom from?
I freeze them for 24 hours. Not sure where my mother buys doom from, but I really do think you should treat yourself to a nice camphorwood chest to keep your woollens in :) We bought my mother one because the moths kept eating her cashmere jumpers (she bought one with her OAP heating money every year as my dad refused to turn up the heating so she wasn't going to give him extra :p) and its big enough to fit her in with her jumpers and smells lovely :) I inherited a small one and keep a few precious bits in it that I don't wear often.

Cheri - I knew zebra, pelican and toucan. Never heard of the others... is the toucan the one for cyclists and pedestrians?

ETA - Dusty... sounds like your investigations have come up with the answer. But at least you've got everything clean :) and I'd still invest in a camphorwood chest...
  • Sorry MG but I think you are too hard on yourself - you don't whine, play the victim or act like a Scottish "ah but"... :D Also, I work hard but jaysus woman, you beat me hands down in the work-horse department.

I do get where you are coming from about reacting to negative people. Seriously negative attitudes trigger me to the point of wanting to scream - "get off your bahookie and do something".

So are we all perfect on here - nope... but we do recognise a negatitive attitude and defeatist outlook on life will get us nowhere and we are learning from each other and supporting each other to move forward as strongly as we can.

Here endeth the sermon and I am going to get into my pjs and pour myself a glass of wine.

Ps FW may be perfect cos she's dead clever :D and Souk may be perfect cos she's a fashion diva :rotfl:

I know that a Puffin crossing is where you cross a busy road to the centre then there is another crossing to the other side. Pegasus crossing is a crossing with consideration to horse riders, toucan is for people and bikes. - can you tell i am a Beaver scout leader, and that we just covered road safety:D!

Everything is always done to her - everyone is out to get her personally - and how I hate that Victim mentality. Perhaps I have been guilty of feeling like a bit of a victim recently too - gotta shake that one out.

No MG, you arent a victim or quilty of the victim mentality. Ialways say to people, who live with depression, or like my son Schizphrenia, or live with what ever, @never ever say you suffer from something, say that you live with dspression, schizoid stuff, ADHD, or whateaver@

If you 'suffer' that makes you a victim, if you LIVE with whatever, it makes you a survivor, and they get stronger x

    :T:T:T to all of you.
Toucan - two can cross (cyclists and pedestrians)
    Pegasus - horses
Pelican, the pedestrian pushes the button to cross
Puffin, has a sensor and can change the lights if it senses pedestrians on the crossing.

Beavers are great if that is what they teach. I also enjoyed the hazards spotting exercise and learning how to concentrate more, which will be very useful for work too. All in all well worth the £85 I paid. I was told that the fine would have been £60 and they estimate insurance costs increase by £85-£105 per year for five years  Who says that self development isnt worth it. Although I would have preferred to spend that on a spa day if I had the choice.

I've decided (even though the house is full and I have more important things to do) to do an approved foods order... It appears that they do an introduce a friend scheme, so which one of you wants to get paid for persuading me to place an order?

    Hey all, great posts today.

TMIF I have had lady problems of that sort. Get Potassium Citrate as Greenbee says. My urethra was too small! Its bad enough having small hands and feet but !!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I love the fashion diva comment. I had an impromptu (free) night out last night and look rough as a BA today!!!

MG you are NOT a victim and do NOT whine. We are a really positive bunch and when we're not, we know it will pass over us.

Dora, ace news!!! So chuffed for you.

Thrifty, YES I feel like that all the time. Listening to women I often think 'Eh'? I told you about my chat with Mum along the lines of no one gets to have everything. She's right. My haircut is £17 from a training academy FWIW. It takes hours (and I have very short hair)but it saves me paying ridiculous city centre prices.

Very tired after my random night out and a day at work and working tomorrow then off to a Barbie. Oh and ace news, I have an interview on Monday for the Edinburgh job. :j:j:jWas starting to feel slightly like no one wanted me but this has restored my faith!

Hope you all have a good weekend X

Good luck with the interview Souk :D

I'd like to ask those of you who have been putting off going to the doctor for any reason, and in particular anyone who is overdue for a smear test, to add it to your frog list for first thing Monday.
