Oceanspirit, did you have trouble with updates from windows too? My laptop seems to have got a lot slower since I last updated and half the things don't even work.

Souk, the very best and most positive of positive vibes for your job hunting - sounds like a great opportunity :j
there are so many others I can't remember them all, but Marru - thrilled for you on the kitty news, congrats to those who have new jobs , good luck to those with new business ventures
and impending exams
, and my thoughts to those who have had things diagnosed recently
I have 3 sleeps til I go away, and will be taking lots of paper and coloured pens for some serious life planning while I am away (in amongst the musical plinking and plonking).0 -
Back from the school .............. it was very big, very messy, very loud.
Think he will plonk for the smaller school, but at least he has seen his choices.
Off to feed the hungry hordes

Afternoon Matrix. Currently feeling too hot to do much work, but have been having deep and philiosophical conversations with a colleague (different colleague to my new friend from last week!)
We've been discussing evolution and intelligent design, whether we believe in God at all, Is there an afterlife, that kind of thing. And all on a hot Monday afternoon!
The weekend was a really mixed bag. Saturday was not good. I really didn't want to be out amongst people at all, and I had to go because it was a birthday treat for Alan from our goddaughter and her Mum and Dad. I was so grateful to get home!! Sunday was better than Saturday, but also a mixed bag. I felt pretty rubbish for most of it, if I am honest. Today... erm... following a pattern and it has also been mixed. Sometimes I am fine, sometimes I am really not. Doctor's appointment is tomorrow morning though, so hopefully I might have some help when I walk out of there. But because it is a doctor... I am stewing myself up something chronic.
Anyway... positive vibes for Kittkins and Souk and anyone else who needs them."A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
Has ds1 chosen which school he likes best??

Positive vibes for you all! Lots of things going on here.
Crickett, is there someone who can come to the docs with you? I bet you you’ll feel MUCH better when you come out than when you go in J
Bleurgh to loud and messy schools MG!
Poor night’s sleep last night – not *quite* long enough, fell asleep with the light on, and put on new duvet which was all scratchy on my feet and kept waking me upMr Daffs does like glamour – and so do I – but sometimes that combines with bedsocks :rotfl: :rotfl: Back to cotton tonight I reckon
at least til we can afford silk rather than fake satin :rotfl:
Having a lovely day – met with a researcher from Canada and went for lunch at Betty’s tea rooms (in York)And I get to call this work
Best get back on with it then I suppose :rotfl:0 -
We will be holding your hand "virtually" tomorrow crickett.
Just fought the good fight and renewed my Home and Contents insurance - Now with Lloyds of London (woohoo!!! aint I posh?) for TADAAAA!!!! £165.96 as opposed to the man from the Pru wanting £346.62 to renew.
So I have saved myself a grand total of £180.66 this afternoon - Woop!!!

Well done MG! :T :T :T
Apparently we have TWO lots of contents insurance (and have had for 20 years   - must get on the case and sort that out! :eek:0 -
I'm back - and I think I did OK........well enough to pass, and given that I've done the foundation GCSE rather than the higher paper, even if I were to have bust a gut and got 90%, I would still only get a C grade. Here's hoping I've got that C and thanks for the good luck vibes
Eeek to 2 lots of contents insurance cheery, hope you don't have to wait til the end of hte policies to get rid of one!0 -
................. and saved £55.68 on car insurance.
Total of £236.34 saved on Insurances - and as they are now all paid in full my monthly DD's are now looking decidedly slender. Just got the playgroup one to cancel after tomorrow and hen there's just the Council tax as a monthly payment.
BTW - money is being stashed in a savings account for next year's premiums so no panics.
