Congratulations to parsnip and Charley-Joe and daddy parsnip :T :T
MG Your blog sounds very exciting so I am looking forward to tucking in later when I have eaten some minor but slightly more pleasant than normal tasting frogs (or spoken to some slightly more subdued dragons for Cheery). These are domestic beings rather than work ones so bit easier to face
Cheery, my beloved greyhound had to be put to sleep on Thursday evening - knew it was coming but came a little sooner than we had been ready for. I will miss him hugely but it was the right thing to do. He was a massive 12 years old which is rare for a greyhound to get to. We got him when he was 5, as a retired racer. He represents the last thing I shared with my ex hubs so it's a very strange time. But, the vet reminded us there were plenty more greyhounds needing loving homes so am looking forward to helping another one (possibly two) when the time feels right :T but this will be quite soon I hope.
Had a fantastic musical day yesterday with my harp buddy, our hearts were fair shrieking out of our chests. Much needed I can tell you!
enjoy your Sundays everyone

Lionhart, So sorry to hear of your loss
dogs are so part of the family arn't they?? Jack has now lost a lot of weight and is looking very sorry for himself
So the vet app at the end of the month may well be his last too

lionhearted girl, I am so sorry to hear about your dog. We first "spoke" because of our dogs if I remember rightly? It is so hard to lose a pet, especially when you have been through some tough times together. After all who, other than your dog, can you really tell all of your silly and worrying thoughts to without them trying to give you advice and instead just a cuddle? Somebody gave me this poem when I struggled with having to make the decision to put my cocker spaniel to sleep. He had also been with me when I was married.
May I go now?
Do you think the time is right?
May I say goodbye to pain filled daysand endless lonely nights?
I've lived my life and done my best,
an example tried to be.
So can I take that step beyondand set my spirit free?
I didn't want to go at first,
I fought with all my might.
But something seems to draw me now
to a warm and loving light.
I want to go
I really do.
It's difficult to stay.
But I will try as best I can
to live just one more day.
To give you time to care for me
and share your love and fears.
I know you're sad and afraid,
because I see your tears.
I'll not be far,
I promise that,
and hope you'll always know
that my spirit will be close to you
wherever you may go.
Thank you so for loving me.
You know I love you too,
tha''s why it's hard to say goodbye
and end this life with you.
So hold me now just one more time
and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me,
you'll let me go today
May his spirit soar at Rainbow Bridge.
I love harps, you are so lucky to be able to play and to share your emotions with a friend. It is said that listening to harps puts our spirit back on track and I really believe that. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
So sorry to hear that lionheartedgirl, sounds like he had a grand old life with you xx
(((((((((gemmzie))))))))) you are NOT a failure because you postponed your exam! You have taken the sensible and strong decision to do it when you can dedicate the required time to it so you can do your best! That doesn't count as failure! :T
Looking forward to popping over to the new blog MG! :T0 -
Cheri, I'm crying again now, that poem tugs the heart strings don't it?
Right off out for a bit, which may mean the door I'm looking for opening, positive vibes please and lucky ones tooBoiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Huge hugs for lionheartedgirl and claire.......our pets are never just animals they are members of the family and our lives are the richer for having them. I fear the sadness we feel is the price to pay for the pleasure of their company xxxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
I'm very sorry for lionheartedgirls and claire's losses: losing a pet is awful.
*Hugs*
Was out last night partying for a friend's birthday. It cost less than I was expecting as I managed to share a cab with someone on the way home (normally never happens as I lie WAAAAAY far from everyone else), so I'm happy.
Spent yesterday negotiating when I will have my last day (next Saturday). My soon-to-be ex boss confirmed my decision for me by flicking over to the rotas for the next few weeks and saying 'Oh I rang up X who will come in. I'll just scrub your name out here *points to my name box in the name column on the rota* and she'll just take over what I had you down to do.'
Now I wasn't exactly expecting heart, flowers, him begging me not leave etc., but at worst that's unfeeling considering I've been there nearly 2 years (and longer than him), and at worst callous.
Still, not my problem. I'm out, and I'll be FREE in a very short period of time.
P.S. Have just checked purse. It didn't seem to be that cheap after all.Ah well...:)

Lionherated girl - so sorry about Pups - the house must be so empty but at least you had the choice & were able to help him.
In that vein of thought - & I know some people don't approve of this but....there's a programme on BB2 tomorrow night @ 9 with Terry Pratchett about the right to die. I've not seen it but IF you watch it - then welcome to my world. Think of me having to help my Mum compose her letter to Dignitas and look into flights. As they took too long (in her eyes) it didn't happen like that but I'd already had to discuss with my work getting pre-bereavement bereavement leave - Think that was a new one on them.
Anyhow - cheery stuff now.TescoDealQueen. I love you. Harry Chapin was a wonderful singer & performer & I have a lot of his stuff on my iPod. He was a great believer in tackling poverty in the States & his saying was "Do Something!".
My favourite song from him is "Circle" & I can find it on youtube but not the version I'm after - as you can't stop yourself singing to the version I'm after....
And lastly - MG recipie & store book---IT'S A NO-BRAINER

Jansonns Temptation was fabulous - boys ate every scrap. I am looking forward to my salmon and lentil tonight though. I seem to have rediscovered my love of great food again.
I've posted my musings and now we are decamping to the garden for some fresh air and quiet time before the Sunday evening ritual of the "sheep-dip" and dinner, but as soon as I have a picture of dinner I will post them over on the blog for you to see.
Off to make the most of the sunshine (in between the clouds) and to make the most of some play-time with my boys.
