Good news, Marru! I know it drags it on but, as you say, he's digging himself deeper all the time. It might save us digging you a new patio. :rotfl::rotfl:

Hmm I would need new foundations for new conservatory but as I am renting...:rotfl:

Been reading but not posting much lately but had to take the opportunity to say:

    Fantastic outcome today Marru

Let him keep on digging :rotfl:

I know that you are planning on being very well prepared for July, I just hope that it doesn't cause you too much stress in the meantime.

My exam will be over next week. The year end also by the end of June. I live now in very nice house that is very soothing to the soul. Plus I will have a hot shot solicitor on my side. I have spoken to her on the phone and I think she is my gal :)

    I've replied :)

I've got a request too... I'm still on bed rest (not that I'm taking it particularly seriously, I mean, I not actually staying in bed, and I do get up to cook/eat/potter about because I'm bored) and although I'm working (well, you can make phone calls from the sofa and from in bed can't you :)), its only for 2-3 hours a day as that's enough at the moment. I'm sleeping lots too, even during the day which is just strange for me...

    ... but I'm still BORED...

... so I'm going to do an amazon order to stock up on lightweight books (I've just found that a couple of R F Delderfield's I haven't got are available) and thought I should get some DVDs too (I had a lovely 7 hours watching all of Downton Abbey over two days at the weekend, as a friend lent it to me).

Any suggestions for interesting but not too demanding reading and viewing would be appreciated. Obviously I don't want to rot my brain :o but its not exactly fully functioning right now, so I just need to distract it...

If it was me it would be THIS (I have been lusting after it for ages :o)

And thank you all once more. You have truly been amazing HS1459427s31sjmk3u7.gif

Greenbee - I have quite a library of books (an eclectic mix) and a fair few DVD's so shout out the sort of thing you like and I will have a look see if there is anything suitable.

I can either post to you, or if you are close to the M3/M27 I will be passing early next week.

Greenbee, what sort of books do you read?? one of my neighbours passes on mills and boons short stories to me (I sit and read them when I'm at hospital apps with mum) I have some I have read I can send to you.
That's very kind of you, but don't worry about posting anything ... pass them on to someone else in the hospital who needs entertainment! At the moment I'll read ANYTHING (apart from proper books... I have The Finkler Question, The Viceroy of Ouida and Austerlitz waiting to be read, but can't concentrate enough to read them... if I could read those, I'd work...)

I can see why :) I remember watching it when I was little, but don't think I can quite justify the cost... I only have 7-10 days left of being bored apparently (my dad just emailed me to say I sound better than when he saw me on Thursday and I should be back to normal by the end of next week... I'd better be... unless the sun starts shining I'll be climbing the walls by then...)

If you're passing (I'm about 15 minutes from Basingstoke/20 minutes from Winchester on the A339) you're very welcome to drop in and distract me :)

I've been reading Jenny Crusie, Kate Fforde, Freya North, Jilly Cooper, John Steinbeck, Anthony Trollope, Georgette Heyer, Maeve Binchy... I can actually now read more than half a dozen pages in one go, but anything vaguely intellectually demanding is still a bit of a stretch.

DVDs... I very rarely go to the cinema and don't have a TV so don't really know what I like if you see what I mean... but lovedDownton Abbey (I'm only about 7 miles from Highclere Castle :)) I also have to admit to having watched a couple of Narnia DVDs recently... and Harry Potter... but there have to be nice things to watch that aren't aimed at the under 15s!

Well done Marru! :j :j Straingely enough, My friend has been doing jury service, and they wouldn't let her take knitting or crochet into the waiting area - we did wonder about embroidery - and now we know :D Fingers crossed for July for you

Just dashing through tonight Matrixettes, not long got in, and going out again first thing tomorrow. Hope all's well xx

I'm sure we can overcome that. Would your landlord object if he ended up with a new conservatory? If so, I'm sure we could 'persuade' him that it was a good idea. (Sharp knitting needles, Great danes and peedie dogs are powerful persuaders.)

We could be very :money: and sell the old one on ebay. :D
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

So, it sounds like you will be better watching rather than reading? Will check out the DVD stash - a lot of them were free from the Newspaper and are just in cardboard sleeves so very easy to post :D

I have a fair few of those authors on my shelf too. ;)

Thanks... Just spotted Elizabeth Jane Howard's Cazalet chronicles sitting at the top of the bookshelf, but it might depress me. Heading off to bed with Susan Hill's Air & Angels which I haven't read for years. Shortage of space (I need a house with a library) prevents me keeping the kind of books that would be useful in this situation... I know I have passed on hundreds that I'd probably appreciate right now!

Which reminds me... I need to get the charity clothes bag ready to put outside the door tomorrow morning. At least that will be a bit less clutter...

OOhh greenbee!!- wonder if I have some of those freebie DVD's - I know I've got quite a few from the "Magic and Sorcery" films - stuff like "The Neverending Story" and "Merlin" - with Sam Neil doncha know (gotta be worth watching just for that, in a "scrummy older man kind of way"................... I could pop them in the post today if you fancy?

Apart from that , stacks of David Attenborough and National Geographic stuff on DS1's school shelves if you fancy those? Might give you a bit of variety.

Bit random but a box sets of Jennifer Aniston, Millenium, Taken, Spooks, Alias or selection of Hollywood Musicals.

Just think of me as your very own personal "Luv Film" - borrow what you fancy and send them back when you are well.

The one DVD you can't borrow at the moment is "The Secret" which arrived with my lovely guests last night - and which we are planning to watch this evening with a box of choccies and a big pad.

Everyone is still asleep here at MG Manor - I love the quiet mornings, so filled with possibilities. Off to put BM on and make my morning coffee.

    Morning Matrix-ers

working full time this week so not really have a moment to myself (or indeed to get any HW done!). DS has turned into the demanding child from hell for some reason :o
Spent all last night trying to tweak my planning etc for CM and I am pulling my hair out. Just when I think I might have got it in the right format I start to question myself and it's incredibly frustrating. I bought a couple of ebooks in relation to CMing (off a reliable source I might add, they're very good) BUT it's just depressed me to see how much paperwork some people are doing to get an Outstanding grade. I know it's not the be all and end all BUT this is where my perfectionism and competitive side kick in as I want to be the best that I can <sigh> but I don't want to sacrifice already little precious time that I have with my H when the kids are finally asleep.

Sorry this has turned into a waffle :o Just needed to get it off my chest. I just need a plan of action and stick to it and stop this self doubt :o

Marru - Excellent outcome without you even having to do anything, give him enough rope and he'll hang. And I am having the new conservatory so patio will be dug ;)

Greenbee - always check out Youtube, sometimes you can watch segments of stuff, or wet your pants at the antics some people will get up to on film LOL

Monring matrix. I am back in the saddle following a rather mixed weekend. Some parts of it were brilliant and some parts utterly pants. However, all in the past.

Back at work today, and it is very quiet at the moment. Looks like a lot of people took the sensible action of booking the whole week off! :D Oh well... makes it easier to do my job because no one is around to ask me daft questions!! :) Right... need to get ready for my meeting with the Dean... See you all later...!

Oh... and today is weigh in day. Not looking forward to that! :(
