40% off of all wine and champagne? I don't think so. They will be a lot of red faces tomorrow. Either that or I'll have a very red face.0

Did you read martins post? He said he phoned them and they agreed he could post the voucher. Doubt they would say that if if was a wind up.Questions are a burden for others; answers a prison for oneself.0 -
Yes, it's 40% off all wine and champagne except anything that's already on promotion. There's also nothing to stop you printing off the voucher more than once although some staff may get a bit suspicious if you keep going back into the same shop lots of times.
We were discussing what to do about this last night when people kept coming into our shop with the vouchers to check it wasn't some kind of wind up!
As far as I'm aware they were intially emailed to people in the same line of business, or at the Council etc.0 -
Thank you, Martin, for the Thresher tip for a 40% off voucher. I've been using their buy 2 get one free deal for some time and always buy all bottles of the same price as the discount is applied to the cheapest bottle of the purchase. The Thresher's three for two offer can't be used with the voucher but I shall now use my new Citibank credit card, 'spend £500 before Christmas' and claim the £50 cash back or voucher offer you tipped a couple of weeks ago, to pay for my Xmas wine shopping at Threshers and so getting a saving double-whammy! Thanks again and I've told loads of boozey friends - hope a few of them sign up to your newsletter.Waddle you do eh?0

Voucher excludes buy 2 and get 3rd free and Threshers website says that applies to all wines and champagnes. So how can there be a discount?0

This is a fab deal for anyone planning a wedding! If your venue allows corkage, this has got to be worth doing, surely?!0

You can't save with the buy 2 and get 3rd free, but you can have the 40% off still.......so of course there is still a discount (buy 3 and you get 40% off the 3 of them)Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Look before you leap!!!
If you are all real money savers then you will smell a rat.
YES Threshers will offer you 40% off all wines and champagnes.
NO you probably won't get good value even after the 40% discount.
Some simple price checking reveals that Thresher sells its wine for much, much more than any UK supermarket or wine chain or independent or anyone selling wine really.
The reason is that it runs a permanent buy 2 get 1 free offer and the only way to turn a profit on this is to bump up the retail prices. As the average UK consumer looks for the deal more than the actual final cost this has been quite succesful for them.
I am not saying that there won't be bargains to be had with the 40% voucher but do some research and remember it is 40% OFF Threshers price and NOT 40% OFF what you would expect to pay for a bottles of champagne elsewhere.
Moet & Chandon 75cl btl
Tesco £20.78 + 5% discount for 6
Morrisons £18.99 + 5% discount for 6
Asda £18.98 + 5% discount for 6
As Threshers don't open early in a morning I can't tell you what they are flogging theres for so DYOR.
Remember Money Savers are supposed to pay attention.0 -
Hi, I manage a local by the thresher group and we usually get emails about these things but i havent received anything, i will ring head office later on and find out the full details as i will need to know anyway and ill let you know the reply, we are doing £5 off a single bottle of champagne or £1 off a bottle of sparkling at the moment anyway as the price are slightly higher because of the buy 2 get 3rd free so u can only have 1 offer or the other.
Just spoke to a friend at work and she as got the email off and u can use it.
Our Moet & Chandon 75cl btl is £29.99 which if you buy 3 makes it equivalent to £19.99, or a single bottle with £5 off is £24.99, or 40% off (with the voucher) would make it £17.99 (which is cheaper than the supermarkets) hope this helps.
And the shop i run opens at 9am!!!:A
