Yes that is exactly what I'm saying and I don't understand the replies either particularly the black and white comment. Gender is an equally valid grounds for discrimination. After all how many boys would be thrilled riding around on a girls bike. Why should girls have to compromise or pay twice the price. I'm quite surprised to find that some folks think this is ok.
And why are bras for men so dammed expensive?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Of course it is ok and it is utterly staggering that you think it might be discrimination.
Would it be discrimination if they sold 2 colours of yoghurt and priced the blue one cheaper as they hadn't sold as many as the pink and needed to clear them out ? This is exactly the same as your bikes example.0 -

How will the child know if the bikes are identical?Gone ... or have I?0 -
this is a mse forum. Very strange to think that some folks actually can't see anything wrong with different prices for exactly the same product.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0

If one is a boy's bike and the other a girl's then one would assume there to be a difference, therefore they are not the same bike.
If there is no difference, other than the label, just buy the boy's bike.
Retailers have always sold articles at two different prices since time immemorial - it's not illegal. Sometimes the stock has been bought from a supplier at different times and the cost price to the retailer has changed - would you want the retailer to increase the lower price in that case?0 -

Presumably.
Clearly sexist, no bikes for eunuchs.
Tescos should be closed down!
As ever Brooker Dave, you are the voice of reason. The bikes are not identical at all!Gone ... or have I?0 -

To the OP- its worth taking up with trading standards. Interesting to see what they say
as for tescos- if they can't sell the boys bikes- why don't they repackage as girls and sell for twice as much!weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -

I would hope TS say go away and stop wasting our time. Companies aren't charities, items are priced differently for a number of reasons, the consumer always has the choice to pay what is asked or shop elsewhere.0
