Turkeys do not vote for Christmas and so its quite natural that PPC's and their fellow travellers counsel against following forum advice. From their point of view I'd just bet a pound to a pinch that they wish that it was just advice on the forums because that is far from the truth.
Have a look at this BBC Watchdog video and discover what the lawyer there recommended should be your next course of action on receiving a PPC ticket.
Then realise that the chief executive of the British Parking Association himself admitted in front of a parliamentary committee that their tickets were unenforceable.
Then there are the words of Les Knight, new business director of Euro Car Parks who told the Sunday Times that his company do not take cases to court, and never have done, because of the legal uncertainty and that "As more motorists become aware of the situation, it may reduce compliance with tickets".
Now, if it was only online forum advice one might just be able to understand the argument but when people from PPC World themselves admit what the situation is then methinks there is far more to the "ignore" advice than some would have you believe.
Its a numbers game plain and simple. At the moment sufficient people continue to pay up for these companies to make a handsome profit for little investment and effort. So tell everyone you know. The fewer people who pay up, ultimately, the sooner the we will be rid of the PPC plague. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

Hey all, I hate these idiots.
My mum got a final reminder letter for an unpaid fine of £125 but the letter had been sent to my mum instead of me as she is the main driver of the car. It had my reg number on it but it didn't have a time on it but a date. The date it was apparently issued was the 4/4/2011. It is now July...I have had no previous warning of owing money just straight to a final reminder. And the most stupid thing is the place it was apparently issued is somewhere I have never ever been. I phoned them and requested a photograph. They were very off hand with me but complied when I said that I would have to contact the DVLA immediatley if they didn't contact me soon because I said someone was driving around with my reg plates and the police would have to be informed. I also emailed them the same thing requesting a photograph. I have heard nothing at all but I am sure I will hear something and when I do I will provide proof I was at work on the day in question so it clears my name.
To clarify, I received this letter out of the blue, no previous letters nothing.. I have never had a parking ticket EVER so I don't know where it's come from and they are demanding a stupid amount of money....

Most likely the trained chimp they have got working inputted the registration of your car into the computer instead of the car which caused the "offence" by mistake.
I would love it if they decided to take you to court, on producing evidence showing a completely different vehicle (probably) to yours. Would be laughed out of the court in record time. But they will never do court, so just ignore.0 -

Could this be the Jason Brierley that is involved with the £20million VAT fraud case which is due to be heard in court sometime this year? The defendant in this case is Jason Brierley, 42, of Claymere Avenue, Norden, Rochdale which I would guess is only about 10-12 miles from Parking Collection Services registered address. Coincidence?
I can't put a link to the news story as I am a new user but here is the URL for it.

Well spotted, ik74!

If it is Jason Brierley of PCS infamy, I hope he gets his come-uppance! He was thought to have been a troll poster on here a year or so ago, not for long as we laughed at him too much!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

got a p c n . couple months ago. the first i knew about it was when i got a letter saying now gone from 30 to 60 and now demanding 100!. there was no pcn on my car as i would have phoned them that day and proberly would have paid as well. they said my appeal was rejected but didnt ask me for any evidence. they sent me pics of my car and the pcn. the property is hospital car park for staff who live on site but owned by the council who given these monkys the right to ticket people. they are nasty and recently ticket on a lady who paid for two hours parking, given another 2 hours grace as she was in emergency but she still got a ticket. the company knew she was in emergency and couldnt wait for the four hours ticket to expire.my point is how can they raise the money up from 30 to a 100 before i am made aware of it. i have asked for copy of the ticket and of the letters that were sent, however after reading the forum i cant help but think they should just type one up.what should i do as was bit worried about it being passed on to a debt collection agency which they mentioned in the one and only letter.regardswadeThe word about the scammers is spreading like marmite here in the westcountry.

well the appeal was to parking collection services. Thing is though i didnt even know i was appealing to them as sent a few emails. i just got an email back stating my appeal was refused. didnt get a chance to talk, write give any evidence etc. The pcn was issued by cp plus. the first i knew about any pcn was when got a letter from collection services demanding 100 or debt collectors etc. there was no inbetween mail saying pay 60 now instead of 30. why i feel cheated is that i didnt get chance to pay 30 or 60, and that cp plus sold/gave it to collection services and i have learnt its the same company.am worried about getting further costs and the threat of court etc but i gen dont have a hundread pounds to spend. The word about the scammers is spreading like marmite here in the westcountry.

You have not been given a parking ticket or a fine:
From a legal prospective what you have been given is an "invitation to pay a private invoice".
You are legally within your rights to reject the invitation and keep your money:
What will happen is they will buy your private data from DVLA and send a series of menacing letters threatening to take you to court and then more letters from fake debt collectors and fake solicitors again all threatening to take you to court.
They will not take you to court as legally they have no power to fine you or charge you a penalty.
In short it is a scam of impersonation of officialdom and empty threats.
HOW TO DEAL:
IGNORE everything, ignore all letters, ignore all fake solicitors letters and ignore all fake debt collectors.
They will get fed up and move on to another victim.
IGNORE Means exactly that IGNORE, you do not appeal, there is no appeal it is part of the scam, you do not bite back, do not write or do anything to correspond and they will go away, if they call your telephone, do not confirm any information place the handset down and leave it of the hook for ten minutes .
BE WARNED evidence on these and other forums clearly describes how people who do pay these hoping they go away receive further demands for more money, often several hundreds of pounds.
Just to add, these parking scams rely on giving you something to pull at, they know some people just can not resist trying to be proved right and if you step back calm down you will see that what you are actually standing in is a very cleverly thought out trap designed to get you to take the obvious bait on the floor, they have had thousands of attempts and perfecting the trap and perfecting the bait, so you think you have spotted a flaw, a loop hole, when in fact what you have seen is what they have left out for you to see and by the time you realise you have been hooked you are well in to a dialogue with them.
Knowing that they have a live fish on the hook is 99% of the scam, but if you ignore them they dont know who you are from adam yes they have the keepers details but the driver is responsible and you do not have to correspond and give them any information, for all they know fred blogs details supplied by DVLA could be the local crown court Judge, senior police officer or local bone crunching no neck thug waiting to dish out some instant justice.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I have been ignoring two charges from this company (using a visitors pass in my own parking space at work, instead of my own pass, which I hadn't been told wasn't allowed), and today received a "Final Reminder" for the first one, increasing it to £115.
Am trying best to ignore these charges having read quite a lot of threads, but am also attempting to move house, and the last thing I need is my credit rating affected by this -can anyone reassure me on that please?
Thanks for any help!0
