He is just a bully and if it were me I would tell him to do one, the bigger they are the harder they fall !0

Thanks for all your suggestions- i might suggest to her that she asks her mortgage provider for a copy of the deeds so she can see exactly where the boundaries lie.
And yes he tried to intimidate her - but she was having none of it.0 -

Fences as supports: Can I hang things on my neighbour's fence?
Fences as supports: Can I use my neighbour's fence as a support for my own plants?
Fences, appearance of: Can I paint my side of my neighbour's fence?
Only if your neighbour gives you permission to do so.
Leaning things against your neighbour's fence, hanging things on your neighbour's fence, even using your neighbour's fence as a makeshift retaining wall, will place a much heavier burden on the fence panels and supporting posts than they were designed to bear. The consequences of such actions are easy enough to predict and you will be liable for the cost of any repairs. On top of that you will still have to do, and pay for, the work that you did incorrectly and which resulted in the damage to your neighbour's fence.
In short, anything you do to your neighbour's fence without your neighbour's permission
- including staining, painting or applying preservative to your side of your neighbour's fence -
amounts to criminal damage.0 -

What a load of tosh, no court in the land would allow such an idiot to have a right over the other side of a property if its on your land you can paint it if you choose to do it luminous yellow its your perogative, the only part I agree with is hanging things from it.
Painting it is up to you !0 -
if its on your land you can paint it
Where does the op say its on their land?0 -

It does not matter !
Facing / on your land the same principle applies0 -
Chickabee, out of interest, where does your sister live? I'm from 'the country' too, and still find city living a bit claustrophobic.
Where I live they are really strange about fences. They are only allowed to be 3ft tall, and if you disobey it someone reports you within 24hrs. Think all the pensioners are short of things to complain about :rotfl:
3ft, that's a bit low!!! Where is this? Some people are so territorial!
I can't see the problem (unless there is a distinct boundary line and the fence sits beyond it...... or the paint was running on to his side!)
I agree. I honestly can't see what his problem is. Sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder.Norman_Castle wrote: »http://www.boundary-problems.co.uk/boundary-problems/fences.html#Your%20neighbour%27s%20fence

The bigoted bit is making judgements about someone because of their looks. The fact that you just added to that says a lot.
I didn't make a judgement about his personality... I just said that I find tattoos ugly.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Officers visited Kay Balsdon, 47, and her 29-year-old partner Chris Bates - and they were threatened with prosecution if they refused to accept the on-the-spot fine.

Interesting how the artice mentions
"A spokesman said: 'The officers gave this a lot of consideration and decided that this was the best way to deal with it. However, we have now reviewed the case and the fine will be rescinded and refunded.'0
