Do Direct Debits count?
Do I have to register for anything, as I already have current accounts and savings accounts, or does it happen automatically?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
It's a bit of fun for some free money, so I like it.Happy chappy0

Yes you will have to register - look at the website.
I think it is debit card transactions only.0 -
Phoenix79 wrote:What about of you're in your overdraft? Surely taking (more) money from your account and sticking it in a savings account is countereffective if the apr on the overdraft is more than the savings account? Or have I got it wrong?!
You have got it wrong.
An example:-
You spend £1.01
They charge you £2.00
From which you will have £0.99 put aside in your savings account
Then in due course they double it to £1.98
Then you get the £1.98 back.
So that you bought something worth £1.01
You paid £2.00 and got £1.98 back
Thus the £1.01 item cost 2p
Great. I think this needs a bigger audience.

Your account will only be ''saved'' if in credit.
If you are overdrawn they will not make any transfer to your savings account even if you are within an authorised overdraft.0 -

Would making a paypal payment from the debit card of £0.01 to one's own paypal account work to get a free 99p?0 -
In summary, in order to get your "free" £100, you have to start with £102 in your account to begin with.
Then buy 51 things for 1p during Feb... Getting 99p added to savings each time to make £50.49. This then has £50 added to it.
Do the same in March... And then get another £50 added.
I doubt that many people will bother to do this, however, which is where LTSB win.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
