My Credit File Clean Up ?

I think the valid for 90 days is just something they have to put on there so people don't think they have to pay £2 every month to keep getting their reports.
Your report could change at any time if a creditor updates it or you apply for something and a search appears on there.
So you have all the time you need, if any of your creditors have corrected your reports before they get your letter then they'll no doubt let you know, although it's probably unlikely they will have if they haven't done it by now.
Round in circles but hope it makes some sense. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

I have half a dozen to send so will definitely have to wait until payday. I notice your credit report is valid for 90 days so plenty of time, phew!
No problem Angie, I wouldn`t worry about the 90 day thing, all I used the reports for was to get the addresses of my creditors that I needed to contact, which was all of them bar one:):pB&SC No. 298

Only today have I finally got all my letters printed and ready to send off for the clean up! Been a little busy
One quick question if I may?
We had a joint loan with Eskimo Loans (Northern Rock). On our Experian CF they are listed as Club 24 Ltd and on our Equifax CF they are listed as Northern Rock (Asset Management) Plc Loan. Both have different Data Controller addresses.
Am I right in thinking I need to send letters to both companies?
Also, we had a bank overdraft with Santander included in our BR. When I look up the address to send our letters to, there's loads to choose from! The one I am sending them too, is
AAM129,
Abbey House,
201, Grafton Gate East,
Milton Keynes,
MK9 1AN
Does anyone know if this is the correct address?
Thanks in advance

I really need some advice here if anyone can help?
I have sent off my credit file clean up letters and had a response from a joint personal loan that was included in our BR. But I don't understand the reply
The loan was with Eskimo loans, part of Northern Rock. Our BR date was Aug 2009.
On our credit files it is listed as defaulted on Aug 2009, but with a current balance showing of £24k.
The reply I have had to Fermi's template clean up letter is as follows:
"I can confirm that your credit file has been amended to reflect that your IVA completed on Aug 2010. This will show as a partial settlement.
As the information recorded is an accurate reflection of your payment history with us, the information will remain there for a period of six years"
So my questions are:
They have wrongly listed the account as an IVA instead of BR, do i need to get this changed, does it make any difference?
And they are going to record a Partial Settlement for Aug 2010, saying it will remain there for 6 years, 2016?. Shouldn't it be recorded as Aug 2009 (our actual BR date) as surely this should fall off our credit files in 2015?
Help
please! 0 -
Hi Angie, does it say it is satisfied or settled? I also have some files showing as partial settlement, but they are all showing as satisfied or settled. The default date should be no later than your BR date, I have had to chase a couple up who had a date later than my BR date showing on the file. As for the IVA thing I am not too sure whether it would matter at all. I have joined Experian on a trial basis and have asked them to help me with the incorrect default dates, and up to now have been very helpful.:pB&SC No. 298

Hi Dojo
I only have the credit files I sent off for when I started the clean up, I havent got new ones yet. And the letter from the loan is the first reply to my recorded delivery letters I sent off a couple of weeks ago.
Experian has the account as Defaulted (BR date Aug 2009) and Current Balance £24000.
Equifax has the account as Default date (BR date Aug 2009) and Monthly status as D.
No mention of settled or satisfied?
The letter I got has confused me because surely if they register a Partial Settlement on Aug 2010, instead of Aug 2009, will we have it on our CF for an extra year, 7 instead of 6?
Or is it the actual default date that is most important here ? If it is only the default date that matters, then is it ok for the Partial Settlement date to show as Aug 2010? And when I next send off for credit files Im guessing I need to make sure the account has been marked as settled or satisfied?
Thanks for your help Dojo :A0 -
Hi Angie, I think the default date is more important along with the settled or satisfied in your credit file. As long as these are correct then they should fall off your file along with your BR in 6 years.:pB&SC No. 298
