My Credit File Clean Up ?
Comments

Personally, I never bothered with Callcredit at this stage.
I concentrated on getting the entries on Experian and Equifax updated correctly, on the basis that any creditor that has also reported to Callcredit should update there as well.
Which is in fact what happened. :cool:Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thank you Fermi
I will follow your advice in that case and wait on Experian and Equifax and see what they have in store for us! Ive ordered the £2 paper copies.0 -
Right just got mine and Dh's credit files from Experian through the post today.
Included in our BR were
For me:
1 joint loan showing as defaulted
1 joint overdraft with Santander not on the credit file anywhere???????
For DH was
1 joint loan showing as defaulted
1 joint overdraft not listed on the credit file anywhere?????????
1 credit card (Egg) showing as Partial Settlement 04/11. Defaulted 07/09 but with Balance satisfied......Do I need to get this changed or is this as it should be?
1 credit card (MBNA) showing as defaulted
Looking at Fermi's clean up thread my next step is to send the template letter recorded delivery to the creditors listed as defaulted and include a copy of our BR orders and our discharge letter.
I am just a bit confused with DH's entry from Egg and wondering why our joint overdraft with Santander is nowhere to be seen?
I still have Equifax to come through too so could it be on there?
Many thanks for any help as always

If the default dates are after the BR dates, or they are not marked as settled/satisfied or partially settled/satisfied, then yes.Angiepange wrote: »I am just a bit confused with DH's entry from Egg and wondering why our joint overdraft with Santander is nowhere to be seen?
Strictly it should be marked as settled as of the discharge date. If the date is later then technically it is wrong, but not a huge deal. It won't stop the default coming off 6 years from the default date, which is the important thing.
Joint account may have been sold on so taken off for now? Or may be on Equifax?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Fermi, on the joint loan the default date is our BR date but it is not marked as settled/satisfied or partially settled/satisfied. It lists a current balance and says file updated for the period to 10/04/11. Do I need to get it corrected?
With the Egg account the default date is actually 1 month prior to our BR date. In your opinion Fermi, should I just leave that alone then?
And with MBNA they list default as 5 months after our BR date so I will be contacting them.
Thanks so much for your advice.0 -

If you both went BR then it needs to be marked as settled/satisfied.
You would need to write with proof of both BRs if it was a joint account.Angiepange wrote: »With the Egg account the default date is actually 1 month prior to our BR date. In your opinion Fermi, should I just leave that alone then?
I would be tempted to leave it....Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Can`t believe that 2 of the letters I sent off to 2 of my creditors have not been delivered. Sent them by recorded delivery, but when they kept showing up as in the "system" I decided to complain to the PO. Got a letter back today with 2 books of first class stamps and an apology, saying that after investigating the matter they have come to the conclusion they were not delivered:mad::mad::mad: Not too sure who they were to as I sent my wifes off at the same time:mad::mad::mad: Will just have to order my files again and see what has happened with them:mad::mad::mad: Not a happy bunny:mad::mad::mad::pB&SC No. 298
