Gordon Brown - Head of the IMF???

Yes, that is why I said we are a contributor. (I never said they had handed over to GB you said they may need to, not me??)
So that is why we would want a head we thought would be good and not wasteful. (as it costs us money)
Agreeing to having GB in on the off chance we may need a bail out (on debt he accrued, 2002-2007 was not a World Recession but the deficit was growing) is rather an odd stance IMHO.
We have more chance of contributing more than being bailed out so we need a strong head of the IMF and a good negotiator with good foresight.
Can you honestly say that man is GB?
I thought the boss of the IMF was normally a US lapdog? I don't see any any contradiction there'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

I will be honest, I am not saying I would not want GB because of him being Ex-Labour.
I just don't think his record and foresight is good enough. TBH I can't think of anyone in current politics I would put forward?
Vince Cable had the foresight, but is he good enough to head up the IMF? Not sure, but I would chose him over GB TBH.0 -

So given Strauss Kahn is swanning off to be French president who would make a good IMF head? John Major? Lula Da Silva? Kevin Rudd? Junichiro Koizumi? Who are the main runners - is there a book open somewhere?
If Berlusconi could nominate one of his "interns" at least we would have something worth watching.0 -

The increasing influence from the East, i.e. Asia and India may well have a bearing. As the balance of financial power is shifting.0 -
probably safer to just abolish the IMF0

Maybe Gordon Brown can sell the worlds gold to mars for 1/8 what its worth 2 yrs later?I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j0

I nominate Nick Clegg. He's had a few banking jobs and would not be missed in his present position.
