BB- I don't have a greenhouse, but I would love one.
Mini fish pies? Could I make with pastry? He doesn't really like mash, so I never make him shepherds pie etc.
Just a quick pop in, and out, but had a thought when I read this. Does he like layered potatoes, they could go on top of a pie instead of mash??

That's a good idea. Might give that a go later.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Have a lovely day.0 -
Good Morning all and what a beautiful day it is here already in the Medway I am looking out of my study window and can see the River Medway sparkling already in the sunshine .Its the sort of day that just makes you feel glad to be alive. My WM is on with a few bits, and they will go out on the line shortly ,then I have a little ironing to do to empty my washing basket out (feeling very invigorated this morning ,must be the sunshine)After luch I have a craft class then after that I have to whizz home to drop my stuff off then I'm off to London to a lecture and tour in the British Library tonight My Uni tutor organised it for our class and apart from the fare up to London and back the rest is a freebie.I shall use the High -speed train as its very comfortable and St Pancras is just five minutes walk from the library in euston. We get to see a behind the scenes bit that the pulblic doesn't normally see so I'm looking forward to that .I shall take my Kindle to read on the train as its just under an hour, plus a bottle of water to drink.
I received my big essay mark for the sewerage essay I did about Sir Joseph Bazelgette yesterday from Canterbury and I'm really pleased as I got a good mark for it ,well worth all the research and blood, sweat and tears I spent doing it.So I'm feeling quite pleased with myself at the moment .
Happy birthday to Sunnyday, I hope you have a great one .HH hope your bil continues to progress well.
Right well time to get a wriggle on and get the washing on the line and coffee and a toasted banana sandwich for breakfast I think.
Cheers chums have a good day whatever you are doing.

Morning my lovelies

Beautiful day here although a bit of a slight breeze. Hope it warms up a treat later
Not much happening here, entertaining kids (both my two have been a MARE this morning, gonna be a looooooong day if it carries on).
No idea about tea, not keen on half of what's listed on planner so need to get thinking cap on
Small load of washing to go on and I need to make a loaf. Hardly living the OS rock 'n roll lifestyle am I? :rotfl:
Haven't had a coffee yet so kettle beckons.
Hugs and spoons all round, have a great day OS or not. Hope you can all enjoy a little bit of the weather at some point.
rosie - view your lottie/garden in small chunks. Looking at it as a whole is so off putting which in turn is making you demotivated. Think of it this way you NEED somewhere for all those lovely seeds to grow, so tackle it a little bit at a time. Persistence is the key x
Hester - More positive thoughts for BIL, I love the suggestion that is ex can move back in to nurse him :rotfl:
Sunnyday - Happy birthday :beer:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

JackieO well done you on the essay. Glad you got a good mark to reflect all the work you put in.
Bitsy Thanks for the encouragement. I think it's when I go and look at all the other allotments which have had a lot of money spent on them ( dh won't spend a penny!!!) and they are all bathed in sunshine up on the hill. We discovered that once the tress are all in leaf, ours gets only a couple of early morning hours of sunshine while all the others up the hill get lots of sun.
I will go up today and just concentrate on weeding thoroughly in a small section.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Good morning folks,
It is a beautiful morning here, so will get some washing on the line in a bit.
The Easter holidays are just zooming away:( But am making the most of it. Great having DD2 back home, I shall miss her loads when she goes back next week!
The garden is looking blooming, lots of blossom - plum, apple, pear & damson. Hope we don't have any late frosts to spoil the harvest.
Going to rearrange the garden furniture today - will be slow work as it is so heavy.
Dinner tonight will be ham & squash gratin, using up ham left over from Sunday's roast and the half butternut squash that was left from the roasted veg. This will be the first time DD2 has had this - hope she likes it.
HH wouldn't SIL be horrified at the suggestion she'd be able to look after BIL at home so he might get discharged sooner?
Happy days m'dears,

Sun is great but full sun all day on veggies......not always so great. When I had my cauli's they hated the hot sun, used to ruin the curds so it might not be as bad as you expect. How close are the trees to your plot, just thinking of watering aspect, my oak trees leech as much water as they possibly can from the garden

The trees are right along the fence. Extremely tall trees, like a copse of maybe ash trees. I haven't tried to grow cauliflowers. I tried broccoli last year, but the deer ate everything except spuds and tomatoes which stayed green due to lack of sun.
They ate all the courgettes, peas, beans, broccoli.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
