Quick Good Morning from just outside Kings Lynn.

:bdaycake: Sunnyday - Pop in and let us know how you are doing.

Popped to Aldi yesterday and stocked up a little, still have some meat with us I brought from home (using up the freezer) and just popped into the caravan freezer and get it out as it is needed. Having salads with BBQ'd meat and new pots most of the time.

There are tea and cakes from the Rally at 3pm today :o A little cloudy this morning but due to clear later, so need to go and look at 2 new outside chairs.

HH - ((hugs)) to you and OH and to anyone else who'd like one.

    Take care all - DG

Hester - nice to hear good news - fingers crossed.
BB - how shocking and sad. Love to you.

Morning all - just! Have been clearing clutter this morning - just the normal amount that builds up over a week. As well as pulling things out to go in the campervan tomorrow. 3rd load of washing spinning, then will put out on airer (washing line full!) Got the boys to tidy their rooms (yipee) and have put the oven shelves into soak. Will clean the oven later. have cleared the dining room and bathroom and half way through the kitchen. Coffee break time! Need to empty DW and clean kitchen and dining room floor. Then must hoover throughout.

All plants will get a jolly good water tonight and the boys will get scrubbed in the bath too - I don't mind them being dirty (muddy!) but when we visit other people..... Have prepped the gym kit for school next week and the school shoes, but need to get DS1 school gym shoes (he's now a size 1 - at not yet 7yrs old!) Think will use his lace up trainers for a bit - save me the cash. Have dyed all the faded school trousers black, which I'll stitch into shorts this weekend. Have to clear out the car, and throw away some papers - just old magazines, but am clearing the junk!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
  • Good afternoon everyone and Happy Birthday Sunnydar.

Up really early today as there was a major RTA up the road and it was like Beruit outside with more flashing lights than a pub disco. Car had flipped onto the roof - fortunately the driver was okay and conscious but had to be cut out. As it's a main road it was all cordoned off and was lovely and quiet - like it used to be on Sundays about 20 years ago. Still quite empty as well really compared to normal.....and there was no house shaking....Hopefully perhaps we'll now get the speed camera we all want (we're at the bottom of small hill so people pick up speed quite dramatically....)

So planted all the window boxes up with hardy geranium which is taking over - this lot from the lawn  - and now trying to give it away to friends....no takers so far so looks like it'll be lots and lots of tubs everywhere....I hate throwing plants out - and then perhaps a stall at the gate if I get desperate :D Cheaper than buying stuff for the tubs though - and I've still got some bulbs to plant but my tummy started AGAIN after I'd been planting even though I tried not to do much bending. Managed about 20 out of 110 bulbs....something tells me the lillies are going in a tub....

Sorted out a problem with the poll tax and chased a couple of others things on line.

Lunch is french onion soup with bread (and a prayer it doesn't set off my tummy) and dinner will be pie with new pots and veg....pudding may be bananas and custard to use stuff up.

The rest of the day for me is sitting in the garden either reading or sewing and being intimidated by birds who think I'm getting in the way. :rotfl:
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
  • Afternoon
Been to DS`s museum this morning where he had a huge meltdown as he saw a poster up informing people that the opening times are being reduced due to the govt reducing available funding:o, also a few things were missing (like curtains infront of the displays...must be getting cleaned), then it was too busy in the cafe:eek:. He couldnt manage it all and had a roll around shouting and hitting himself. Took him out into the park and he then wasnt happy as ice cream man wasnt there at his usual time....apparently it was the worst day ever:o:o....we then saw the ice cream man pull up as we were getting on the bus so had to get off the bus and go back for ice cream...it is a good job i am patient;)
He is now sat near the door eating his lunch in the yard...he wont eat outside properly at picnics etc as the air makes food taste funny:cool:
He has a ginger tom cat sat next to him who seems to have adopted us:rotfl: he has been coming everyday since last week. It has done DS the power of good to have an interesting cat to play with as ours just sits there...she might as well be stuffed. We seem to have become the local cat soup kitschen, they all come here.
We are all going next Fri to Kent to see DHs family. We are staying in Premier Inn at Maidstone...JackieO I think you live near there...do you have any ideas on where I could take DS for a couple of hours whilst DH goes to visit his sister ( dont want to take DS to the rehab place really:o). I might just have a wander round Maidstone town with DS or find a park....Saw a place called Kent Life but not sure if it is very near and it will prob be busy.
Thank you all for your concern re the lump. it was on back of my arm near armpit and was very sore but has completely disappeared now...might have been from the infection I had, but I will get it looked at.
    Happy Birthday to Sunnygirl:T
hope you are all having good days and enjoying the sun

Hi there- hugs and thoughts to those who need them. It's glorious here - very quiet except for the birdie orchestra out the back. Garden Tiger has been contemplating a bit of stalking, but she's more of a mouser, really.
I've been experimenting today - I made this recipe http://http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/coca-cola-duck-473 using Mr T's American cola, about half a bottle of soya sauce and a pair of duck legs. I let it bubble for a couple of hours while I was sorting out some blackberry and apple jam, but it hadcome out beautifully. The meat fell off the bone, and I used some thickening granules on the sauce, which was well worth it.The meat is now in a covered bowl, and the sauce is in recycled mayo jar.

The main excitement of the day was the unpacking of the meatslicer that I got at the weekend. I got about 30 sandwich - size slices out of the gammon joint that I cooked yesterday, and then managed to clean it up and stash it safely away in a deep drawer. I got rid of a load of grotty plastic containers that had been multilpying for months to make space for it.
My AF order arrived at lunchtime, and it is now all over the dining table so that we can sort it out tonight when DH gets home. I managed to watch Make Do and Mend (which is now available of on 4oD), and thought it was so much better than Superscrimpers. It's on again tomorrow,so I think I'll record the whole series if the DR will let me.
Enjoy the rest of the sunshine.

    Evening All,

Late one for me as I have only just managed to get on the laptop.

Still sneezing and coughing but managed to do a 40 min walk this morning. Its so glorious I just had to get outside.
Also managed 2 lots of washing on the line and changed our bed, am determined to get rid of these cold germs.

Food wise tea was a roasted chicken turned into a stir fry with Hoi Sin sauce and used up all the wilting veg in the salad drawer.

Still have no car but it should be ready Thursday. DH car is working at the mo, touch wood, to be honest it has stopped me going out and spending over the easter hols.

DS3 is in trouble as he has taken a shine to a girl from school and she lives around the corner. Came home 40 mins late last night, apparently everyone else is allowed to stay out as long as they want well not in this house they're not so he is grounded and sulking:eek: had a long talk this morning about how he should behave and what we expect of him etc. He seemed to get it. Its funny going through this with him as he is number four and has always been the baby, keeep forgetting he is nearly 15.

The garden is looking lovely am just sat by the french windows enjoying the fab weather.

    Have a good evening all J x
