Cheers. All I meant was that people come here worried, and as the regulars have seen it all before the mickey taking tone of the responses towards these companies may not be useful for some. I totally get that these companies are quite rightly being treated as a joke, but some people who may feel easily threatened by these letters may need a more sympathetic and supportive approach.

After feeling a bit aprehensive as I have never had to deal with this type of thing as I never owe anyone any money, I feel quite confident to safely ignore this stuff, as does the Mrs :)

What you need to remember is, as you correctly state, people come here when worried looking for advise. They get the advise and I assume ignore the PPC and we never hear from them again.

What would be good is, if a few, like the poster above, come back from time to time, to give updates on what letters they have received, how long they have ignored, how long since last letter and if anything else happened. That would put more newbies minds at rest.

I just had a look at our top sticky thread and notice it is devoid of the full CP Plus/Trethowans letter chain.

If anyone would like to help, please pm pics of each letter (identifying details covered) to Crabman to add here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

And to GSXR6, sorry to say I was a bit guilty yesterday of slapping on replies saying 'please read the stickies' as we had soooo many people asking the same question this week! Have a look at just the first page of current threads, tons and tons of the same question that sometimes we run out of steam!

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

Have you clicked on 'Welcome, please read this before posting' by Crabman (a sticky thread near the top), and seen the famous paper aeroplane Watchdig video clip? Your wife will love it!

Oh, and tell your lady wife that I am just a Mum of four with a squeaky clean credit rating/record etc and a responsible job. But I ignored a PPC fake PCN nearly 3 years ago and that's what has got me posting on here almost every day ever since! I do think that PPCs are scammers but then us regulars have seen some shocking tactics and debt collector illegal threats over the years...

Sadly you cannot avoid the letter barrage - even by writing to them (don't!!) but you can be ready for the letters and not get scared if Trethowans also write to you.

And if you want, you can complain about them as harassment is a criminal offence and writing to the registered keeper pretending they are 'responsible' is against OfT and BPA guidelines (and enough complaints to the DVLA could cause some firms to be stopped from being able to access the DVLA database).

    Useful links for complaints:

Having got a ticket myself from Elite Management on the 19th, i pretty much feeling the same as you. I am feeling apprehensive about getting threatening letters as i have a squeaky clean, debt free life. I kinda feel 50% certain that i am not going to pay this 'invoice' and even possibly not even open the letters. You totally said it for me in regards to the 'flippant' approach that were voiced in the replies. And yes i would genuinely like to hear from others who have simply ignored these threats especially from Elite (not heard about them much) I will keep you posted on how i get on. Thanks

Renee you are going from thread to thread with this, now you have been given advice numerous times on your thread, you have been given a link showing the BBC Watchdog team's advice, you have been given 3 videos to watch from Watchdog, the first video has a legal expert there that explains fully the PPC industry. Others have extensively replied to you there.

And you call it flippant ! Really I give up with you, if you can't see it for what this is, just pay the invoice and be done with it!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

[TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]

You have not read the advice nor watched the Watchdog link yet have you!

And yes, I also have a squeaky clean, almost-debt-free-except-for-the-mortgage life. And yes, I have had a PPC fake parking ticket (from Euro). And yes I ignored it, 3 years ago, nothing happens.

They want to charge you £6 per minute. Then they will make it up to around £18 per minute.

    Why? How? It's balderdash.

I've told you exactly what letters they will send.

I can feel another song coming on. 'Return to sender...address unknown....no such number....no such zone.':rotfl:

I can see why people think their situation is different to everyone else and need the reassurance its not!

Seeing last year DVLA gave over 800,000 keepers details to the PPC's plus the many thousands they didn't need to find because people appealed. The odd one or two very well chosen/setup court cases that do crop up would confirm Oopsadaisy is right its in the millions to one that a N1 will arrive.

It also amazes me what some people think these PPC;s and debt collectors can actually do, when in reality they can do absolutely nothing except issue threats!

Try and relax newbies your case is the same as many many thousand here and on other forums. Ignore them is the way to go, or if it a case were it is nothing at all to do with you, and your capable wind the bastawds up!

Come one!!!!!!!!!!! It's just the same as thousands of others.

You're not special [despite what your case worker says].
