How do I settle?
Comments
-
To be honest, if it's been that long, it sounds like you can't afford the house you're picturing that you want. If that's the case, no-one can tell you how to settle because it's a case of you coming to terms with that.
How far short are you? What are the prospects for you earning more in the future?0 -
You have to be realistic and use what you have.
No point moaning that you don't have enough space when what you want you can't afford. So unfortunately you'll have to put up with it until you can.
You have to change your perception, the move is not going to happen soon in the future, that looks like a certainty! So in order to be able to afford it at some point later in the future you have to make do with what you have and save hard in the meantime. Or play lottery.
If you can't afford to extend how will you afford to move?
You can't expect to sell a smaller house and buy a bigger house in the same area for the same money, it just doesn't work like that. You either move the area to get a bigger house or stay where you are and extend, but please stop moaning.0 -

Ive been seriously thinking about this and I think we need to do the extension, I may not get the newer house but will get the space, and you are so right saying I need to come to terms with the fact I wont be moving.
If we extend we will end up with a size of house that we couldnt afford to move to, Im just a bit scared that I wont be able to cope with all the work.
I am about 15K short of what we need for the house we want and I will not be earning more money any time soon as I work part-time with 2 young children, so extending is staring me in the face!0 -

Sorry about the moaning, just posted there gonna go with the extension to get the space, moving is not an option and time to put a lid on it.
Thanks for the input much appreciated0
