Private Parking Penalty Notices

A court has recently ruled that by offering a "discount" they are shooting themselves in the foot. They can only claim for any actual material loss. By offering a discount they are proving that it's not a true reflection of the loss, but a penalty. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Oopsadaisy - I think because in my case due to my 3 year old son's health problem where I parked on a disabled bay without a disabled permit UKPC may see my issue as a winning case for them, thats my concern....sorry to bore you with this !
Everyone thinks the same....my case is special/different because of XXXXXXXXx.
The reality is that after the word 'private' [as in car park or ticket] nothing else matters because the advice is always ignore, ignore, ignore all letters from them.
Sorry to bore YOU with this, lol.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
It's true, as soon as we see the words 'private parking charge notice' our eyes glaze over and we need read no more at all.
The answer to a parking charge notice is always to ignore it and the debt collector threats. The letter-chains are shown in our top thread, in pictures, for info and there's also a Watchdog link on another sticky. Read the stickies (the info threads permanently at the top of the forum).
By the way, these companies are very, very rich as sadly LOTS of clueless mugs just pay up. It's a scam but there's an infuriatingly daft percentage of the British public who are just stupid or credulous or uninformed, or all three, believing in anything that looks vaguely like a fine.
There are plenty of people who are scared of what they perceive as officialdom and who don't think to Google before they cave in and pay the scammers. The only victims that I would not call mugs would be the elderly or those with no access to a PC - anyone else who pays a PPC is frankly two sandwiches short of a picnic.
And there are always new PPCs jumping on the bandwagon as it's a very easy and legalised form of a protection racket that they can soon make a fortune from. The owners of these scam companies are mainly arrogant fat cats who don't give a stuff about what they are doing to people - and parking enforcement is never at the top of their agenda.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
