    DTD Tale of Woe #3

Today I did two separate transactions with two vouchers along with a third transaction in cash for reduced goods. The latter went through first, was packed and safely in my trolley. Cue second transaction being scanned and me notifying the SA that I have vouchers for both of the remaining shops.

She calls for a supervisor who trots over to the till.

He checks the numbers and signs off the receipt, before beginning a lengthy conversation with the SA along the lines of, 'He's in every day, buying things that are cheaper at ASDA. Look at this (pointing at the receipt), he bought fake tan for £11.49 and got a £10.98 voucher back on that alone'. All of this was said quietly, I don't think he realised I could hear him.

A little bit of poo came out.

Once he'd disappeared after looking at the items on receipt number two, the SA began grilling me: 'So, do you look for things that are cheaper at ASDA, buy them here then get a voucher?; How do you do this - compare the two websites? I bet you've got loads from this haven't you? You certainly look like you know what you're doing'.

I denied everything in my usual eloquent fashion, 'Erm, erm, erm, no I just buy shopping. That's what I do here, buy shopping...'

With beads of sweat forming on my forehead, the SA surprised me by offering tips on how to better my returns:

'Have you tried going online? MoneySavingExpert is good - they have a spreadsheet and everything'.

'Never heard of it. What's a spreadsheet?'

'Just have a look when you get home - Google it'.

I have a feeling the supervisor may have asked the SA to try and get me to hang myself by admitting I seek out expensive goods in order to get a voucher in return, thus proving I was going against the 'spirit of the promotion' - be careful out there!

I did mean they put them in the same bag at the counter. So I asked for 3, a label went on saying 3 quantity at 75p but then actually compared against just one at A.... This happened twice. Think i might go and be a bit crazy now!

    ten large samosas please :)

Did they just put the 3 in the same bag and a total on the ticket they print?

I make it 14 to buy (£10.50) compared to 70p gives £19.60 back.

Are we best of just using this glitch for normal shopping hidden among food in a normal shop is well not noticeable .

few little freebies on your shopping?
