  • Thats not good. Roughly where would you shop if you could? maybe there is another DTD'er around that could offer a lift?

The nearest one is 6 miles away from me (doesn't sound far but it is if you have to bus it lol), the next one is 20 miles away. I live in the sticks!

Next Monday I'll be working about half a mile away from one so I'm hoping to persuade the person who's driving that day to go home via Ts....... it's a very generous free lift though so don't want to be taking the p1ss! :o

On the plus side - the surf smells SOOOO nice, and I make a lot of Quorn lasagne's to put in the freezer so the Dolmio'll come in handy!! :D

Just back from Mr T. Was on a mission to buy the eye cream with one voucher and kill off another.

So, off I went and picked up the eye cream, knowing I would have to pay £2 towards it as I mucked up yesterdays voucher.

Headed over to buy some alcohol for the 'kill off' voucher carefully including some stuff for DH to stop his "I don't see the point in this" blah blah;). So, I'm standing trying to decide which beer to buy and there's a tannoy announcement for security to come to the floor:eek: - not that I'm paranoid you understand but I did wonder if that was for me as I'm never out of the place!

Got to the checkout and could only see [STRIKE]trouts [/STRIKE] ladies of a certain age and thought oh well, what the heck. Loaded up the conveyor and split the shop into two.

Paid for the booze first and handed over voucher, had to go through the whole 24hr clock thing yet again. Supervisor approved the voucher.

Then the eye cream was scanned, I handed over the second voucher and I realised I had the vouchers mixed up. Had to quickly grab something at the checkout to bump up the cost to the voucher value. Stress levels rising as there was quite a queue behind me by that time.

Then bloke immediately behind me at the tills starts asking how I managed to get the vouchers, so I had to quickly tell him to google the price check when he got home, really didn't want to stand round talking about it as I'm convinced they're watching me:o.

I get outside, into the car and put the shopping in the footwell. Unfortunately I forgot I was in DH's car which sets the alarm off after 15 seconds if you don't start the engine. There's me trying to be all discrete nipping in and out Tesco asap and now the blooming car alarm is blaring in the car park:eek::eek:

    Stressful bussiness this DTD:D!

I'm about to send my hubby round to Tesco for some DTD shopping. Before he goes can I ask something? We have a £5 off voucher for Quantumatic and the £2 voucher from inside the Finish box. I've heard people say these can be used towards another box of finish but HOW? I don't see how you can get 2 to work as well as your DTD voucher.

    Sorry if I'm being thick!
I dont know why they work, but I can assure you that they do, and it does not change your dtd, just remember to put another £7 of shopping in your basket : )
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.

If your in Devon PM me I will look at helping anyone.

I say Tesco found it EASY to make promises it still cannot keep.

Had a nightmare shopping trip this evening. I go armed with 8-10 shopping lists and a contingency list for all the things I might buy, just in case. I forgot my contingency list this evening - doh! Then there were at least 2 things on every one of my planned lists that were either out of stock or the price has changed. After a LOT of mental arithmetic and recall from the spreadsheet I managed the 3 shops, but didn't necessarily get what I wanted.

Some of the price differences that I remember are:

Piat D'or Merlot was labelled at £4.00
BUTCHERS CHOICE 12 CUMBERLAND SAUSAGES 681G at £2.89 per pack
The blue radox hand wash was priced at £1.00 (the others were still £1.63

There were a couple of others that I forget now - my brain is frazzled!
  • I'm just a wee bit jealous of all of you who are having problems finding space for your DTD items lol

As a vegetarian who can only shop in her lunch hour, (and therefore cannot get frozen food cos there's nowhere to store it at work lol) and doesn't drive so can't get to Mr T at the weekend, I'm struggling to find things to buy! Gonna be well stocked up on juice, dolmio, WUL and surf by the time this ends! lol
I'm stocking up on l'oreal dermo exage perfect cleansing wipes 25 - these are a net cost of 6p but get a flump or 2 to keep the voucher up! So how about other cosmetics/toiletries? Suntan lotion is another good one.
    I feel your pain though!
  • maybe there should be a thread so people can offer lifts etc. my T is quite away as well. Takes about 12mins on motorway. DH does work near one though...
