Have done this before. very early one morning I was privelidged to be invited to something that was 'way above my paygrade'.

I needed some cash, from the cashpoint I went. seeing a couple of blokes looking clearly 'Down on their luck'.

TBH I didnt want to give them cash, So walked to the local shop and bought a selection of food/breakfast for them. just handed them the bag and said enjoy some breakfast.

I was inspired by a friend who after we had all been out for a nice meal, again saw a person sleeping rough in the back door of a hotel, pulled out his wallet and went inside bringing the man with him. he paid the hotel for the man to have a room for the night a hot meal and a drink.

Thanks Keith, made me realise 'for the grace of god thats me'

    Regards.
What a nice thing to do :):)

    Flumps

If you knew what they are made from and how they are made i don't think many would be eating them.

Just thought I'd let you all know that I bought the Aunt Bessie's potato croquettes today and had them with our dinner. They are really nice and well worth getting, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Just thought I'd share that as I had put off buying them as I thought they'd be horrible. They will definately be on my list for tomorrow, although might have to put them in my mums freezer!!! until my ebay one arrives:rotfl:
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:
  • Bought the 3 bottles x 2 seperate of diet coke today from Mr T my husband only drinks the one with citress zest Mr T doesnt sell that one, so I went to asda and asked if they would change them, They did....
  • loving the flump idea, I came too late to the Betty party, only got 2 before the price change. Thinking about going out after Glee but not sure if I can be bothered tbh! Just been to Morrisons to get Ariel stain remover that's on offer (check the rest of the grabbit board folks!) - wish I'd seen the flumps before then lol

Of course, the whole thing is backfiring on Tesco twice over really. Not only are we relieving them of their goods for nothing (or next to nothing), it is also highlighting just how much more expensive Tesco are than Asda. For many years I have been a loyal Tesco customer, but, to be honest, when this promo is over, I think I might have to reconsider - and I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking along those lines.

Not according to The Grocer where Tesco has most recently recorded one of its rare victories as the cheapest supermarket this week, with its Grocer 33 basket coming in at £50.86 against £50.90 for ASDA.

    http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/articles.aspx?page=articles&ID=211293

It's important to remember that DTD involves focusing on those few product lines where ASDA is significantly cheaper than Tesco, whilst ignoring those where Tesco is significantly cheaper than ASDA. Everyone got excited when (for example) Linda McCartney Vegetarian Sausages where £1.83 in Tesco and £1.00 in ASDA because it meant that the net cost was only 17p a pack. Nobody apparently cares that they're now £1.00 in Tesco and £1.83 in ASDA. (Although that does mean that that nice Mr A will let you have them for 90p.)

Anyone at a loss of what to spend their voucher on, here's an idea..

    IAMS DOG FOOD SENIOR & MATURE CHICKEN 3KG £10.15 £5 £10.3 -£0.15 0 Pet/House -1%

Will make a nice, useful donation to animal rescue shelters :D I have brought one today, I'm planning on buying a few more and I'll take them all at once to a local animal rescue place.

I already have a couple of years supply of shower gel and toothpaste and alot of the good deals on foods are for things I wouldn't eat so it's nice to have an opportunity to give to charity robin hood style ;)

I did this today. I took 6 bags of Iams to my local animal rescue and they were so pleased.
They were even more pleased when I explained to them how to dtd to get as much of it as they wanted :rotfl:.

That was very kind of you :)

I have found this website http://www.homelessuk.org/ which has info on lots of shelters, which I expect people could donate to, but the homeless people I'd really like to give to are those actually living on the streets, does anyone know any way I can do that without just going up to them and giving them the food?

The issue I have with just going up to them personally and giving the food is there are a few homeless people on my street and I'd be passing them quite regular and wouldn't want to feel awkward or rude not giving something, and they often sleep right opposite my house and I'd feel odd ignoring them outside - hope that makes sense and I don't sound like a ignorant or crazy person! :(
