A chuckle for the morning...
I went shopping last night, brought a number of items I knew has good DTD, as well as my normal "bit" as OH wouldn't come shopping to split the trolleymaybe not be a very gd come back (you win some you lose some), put it through gave over my voucher SA says to the woman behind - "what do I do with this?" She replies "not sure - but I've heard Tesco and Asda have agreed to drop it because they are loosing too much money"
I replied " I did guess they were losing alot of money - that's a £19.56 voucher from a £21 shop in here the other week"
If only I had a camera to take a photo of the two SA faces and the bloke in the que behind me!!!0 -

So although we are all making a fortune through this promotion, its because it is targetted to a very small percentage of the store's items. Its something to remember when we see posts talking about tesco fleecing the customer. They may well be......but asda is just as bad.
I have thought this all along, i really do think that tesco are cheaper OVERALL especially when you put into account the Club Card Scheme, then the Double up promotion, petrol vouchers, £4 off £30 till splits etc etc, plus the Rewards, Asda dont offer anything like that, the things that we are all buying now, are most expensive items, which, given the choice, i reckon the majority of us would have picked up a cheaper alternative if we were doing our weekly shops.
I went to Tesco yesterday to kill off a few vouchers that i received that i had given up hope of receiving.... from 6-8th april, and it almost broke my heart knowing i wasnt going to get a voucher back for it, but funny enough, i was very surprised at how much i got for it too, i had an overflowing basket as apposed to a couple of items which i have been buying lately.
It was nice to walk around Tesco and look for a `bargain`!It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.
The world is full of people throwing stones at us. Its what you do with them that counts. Build a wall or build a bridge.0 -
Help - cant load the spreadsheet!!anna_grant wrote: »Me neither - just hanging.MY GOD!!
CANT FIND SPREAD SHEET !!!
The SS has not been taken offline, Nobody has been stopped from viewing it.
As suggested it appears that a hosting server has crashed (as sometimes occours).
Please rest assured there is back up copies and the SS admins are working on getting you all some functionality back ASAP.

I say Tesco found it EASY to make promises it still cannot keep.0 -

I have been unsure which of the supermarkets is cheapest and I thought Asda or Tesco were. Our freezer broke a couple of weeks ago and when I put all of the items into mysupermarket to work out the insurance claim Asda was the cheapest by over £30, Sainsburys was the next cheapest and Tesco was £10 more expensive than Sainsburys. I was amazed as I honestly thought Tesco/Asda would be around the same (and it wasn't because the freezer was full of DTD items!)0 -

It depends really on the day, This promotion has opened my eyes to some of the marketing tactics used by the supermarkets.
The gain from this DTD promotion is achieved mostly targeting items Mr A has on promotion.
General shopping baskets including the BOGOF/deals etc will be very similar in most supermarkets.
I know for sure I will be making lists and shopping around in all the available shops to me and using mysupermarket a lot more.

I guess it depends on your lifestyle but I have a big trolley at MySuper and ASDA is considerable less than Tesco, Sainsbury is also cheaper. If they are going to keep this DTD up it's gonna hurt !0
