Tesco/Asda Pricechecker Thread - part 5

Also as it was my first ever shop to day, would never normally go in tesco not even to use the toilets when i got to the counter they asked me if i wanted a clubcard .i said how long does it take and it was instant she just handed me one with a receipt . on the receipt it says claim 7 pound of next shop over 50 pound could i use this with a voucher and what is the best way to maximise the potential of this?
Combine it with other vouchers. I got one on my last dtd shop, considering a similar strategy. Hopefully a £50 shop should drop to £43 and then £33 after a £5 Coop voucher and a £5 Finish voucher, chuck in a £20 dtd voucher (whilst ensuring that you get another one with this shop and avoiding buying comparably cheaper products - maybe clothing?) which brings it down to a very reasonable £13.0 -
can you spend the vouchers in tesco express but not do a price check in there?
yes... used up a few of my smaller vouchers in express on my travels.. handy for everyday stuff like milk and pop.. good for treating the kids when out also as can get them pop sweet and ice cream etc and go park with it..0 -

If you have any sense, don't let your husband loose with a DTD voucher unless he really knows what he's doing!!!!
I was working today so I asked Mr Pink to pop into tesco in his lunch break with a DTD voucher to buy smoked salmon (to go with dtd prawns, salad and some lovely crusty bread for tea). I reminded him at least twice, to check spreadsheet and then check tesco and asda websites. He remembered the first bit but forgot the rest.
Smoked salmon price has increased in asda. It was still technically free because he used a DTD voucher but he killed a voucher that wasn't quite ready to die.
He has his good points though so I think I'll get over it.......this time.:D

Edit, just in case anyone else gets caught out...
Tesco Finest Scottish Smoked Salmon 100G T £3.69 / A £3.48 Still a difference but not enough to stop me choking on it.:D Off to update spreadsheet form in a minute.
Still showing as this for me
ASDA Extra Special Scottish smoked salmon (100g) £2.22
(£22.20 per 1kg)
The one for £3.48 isn't scottish

Re Coop vouchers, these were available to print from beforeishop but seem to have expired now. However registering with the Coop online may well yield a welcome pack which contains 2 x £5 vouchers.0 -

On a side note for people looking for confirmed items, I've been buying the L'Oreal face tan stuff every day now for two weeks in a separate shop. It's £11.49 a bottle, voucher back for £10.98. I looked at the SEL in more detail today - the 'offer' at Tesco runs to 9th May! I'm going to end up with 32 bottles of the stuff if ASDA keeps up their offer too...
you'll end up giving away 80%+ of that, it's probably only good for 12 months if you check the box (Picture of a plastic container with a number, e.g 12M=months) and not really something to mess around with, so might want to switch it up to a different product?0 -
let's keep things simple; you find a pack of lamb at tesco that costs £12.50....that means it's 500g (taken from packaging).
what you need to do is multiply the weight in KG by £9.72 (i.e. the price per kg at ASDA.
i.e. 500g = 0.5kg --> 0.5 X 9.72 = £4.86.
take £4.86 away from £12.50 = £7.64
double that value to get your voucher total; in this case it would be £15.28.
regards,
lamb expert.
Ah, brilliant, thank you so much!0
