  • Asda put bacardi at £13 to get folks through the doors. Whilst they are there they are likely to buy other things. I dont believe there is any profit in £13 a litre- and its more than likely they are selling at a loss.

    Who cares, it's a fab DTD :D

My DS was very suspicious this afternoon after I allowed him a kit kat, magnum, and a J20 :rotfl:
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)

When he has a steak at a restaurant he always goes for medium , so I presume that is the same way that you cook you rack of lamb. I have just told him he might have a whole rack of lamb on Sunday for lunch he looked real pleased lol Thanks for helping me with this cooking problem, but it is yonks since I cooked meat.

There's plenty of guidance online if you get scared! Either go to the BBC's Good Food site or Google 'rack of lamb', etc.

I was going to consult the web and various cookery books! Am looking at this recipe.

That looks gorgeous. If I get any more, I'm considering smothering it in this and barbecuing it.

No. Berwick-upon-Tweed Tesco lies between Tweedmouth and East Ord, opposite industrial estate. Not far from Spittal.

Is it near the garden centre or is it more round the ind estate side, I remember there being a lawnmower (the big ones) type business there

I really like this toothpaste :) It tastes quite strongly of bicarbonate of soda though so not everyones cup of tea - my oh hates it but I think it gets my teeth feeling really nice and clean :D

Now I'm torn - do I continue buying the other arm and hammer at a profit, which a perfectly good toothpaste, or buy this one which I prefer and (if it works) get if for free? :undecided

If you much prefer this one and its free, I'd say go with this one. I bought this one for my parents, I hope they are going to like it

They're definitely selling it to us at a loss if we're getting it for £3.21 :D

I have been surprised at how close Tesco have been to Asda on many prices - although the 500 or so on the spreadsheet would show they are far from perfect.;)

I personally think Tesco get themselves into trouble by trying to 'hoodwink' customers

1 Litre Bacardi £13.00 for 1 at Asda
    1 Litre Bacardi £22.79 for 1 at Tesco or 2 for £26.00

If Tesco had just sold it at a reasonable price of £13 in the beginning they would have saved themselves a lot of trouble.

Agree with everything you've said..just that I personally think all supermarkets try to hoodwink you one way or another...a bit like politicians. ;)

I don't really buy alcohol so that's maybe part of it.
I agree about the spreadsheet, but do just wonder what proportion of the total items they stock that represents (I have 400 plus items on my online favourites list for example & that's just a drop in the ocean.) Also, I would be very interested to know what the spreadsheet would be like if the situation was reversed, ie: how many/which etc items would be cheaper at Tesco's than Asda. Quite a few have turned up on my price check lists, & I haven't bought a lot.:) I suspect it would be pretty similar.
