preciousillusions wrote: »Question for those savvy on buying the rack of lamb: How do you figure out how much DTD you will be getting back on a rack going by the weight/price on the shelf? As obviously weights with differ from the one on the spreadsheet. Is the DTD always £2 higher than the price paid?I always work it out by calculating what percentage of a kilo it weighs. For instance I bought a rack for £6.28 which is almost exactly 25% of a kilo. Therefore at the Asda rate of £9.97 per kilo the same rack would be £2.49 so the difference would be £3.79 so DTD would be £7.58 ( profit of £1.30)

Thank you, it's not letting me see your asda link... i might risk it as i can't imagine the price comparison would be done on local prices.0 -
Hi Everyone, I've never had any success with the beef in Wales. (....story of my life! haha)
Hopefully the NZ lamb will go back u in price after Easter. Haven't tried the cod yet, but have walked past it a few times!"However, Tesco clearly underestimated the Great British Shopper's eye for a good deal."

Just looked again today and the Courvoisier VSOP 70cl is Mr T 30.99, A 21.97. so hopefully tomorrow should have a DTD of £18.04 and Dads birthday present has cost me £12.95
For the spreadsheet Courvoisier VSOP 70cl T 30.99, A 21.97 DTD 18.04 Net cost 12.95

All promo campaigns cost them money, some more, some less. Their primary target is to increase their return on investment - to maximise their incremental turnover (and hopefully profit) for every pound spent on marketing campaigns.
Trust me, they don't care whether you have one or two racks of lamb. They care whether they attract extra 100,000 shoppers each day for £100,000 worth of issued vouchers or not.
