    Did anyone buy beef today? My parents looked for it and said the bar code was different to normal. They have bought it a few times before, so they know what to look for.
    Apparently everything else was correct, except the bar code.

    Question for those savvy on buying the rack of lamb: How do you figure out how much DTD you will be getting back on a rack going by the weight/price on the shelf? As obviously weights with differ from the one on the spreadsheet. Is the DTD always £2 higher than the price paid?

    let's keep things simple; you find a pack of lamb at tesco that costs £12.50....that means it's 500g (taken from packaging).

    what you need to do is multiply the weight in KG by £9.72 (i.e. the price per kg at ASDA.

    i.e. 500g = 0.5kg --> 0.5 X 9.72 = £4.86.

    take £4.86 away from £12.50 = £7.64

    double that value to get your voucher total; in this case it would be £15.28.

    :)

    regards,

    lamb expert.

    They are not bonkers - DTD vouchers count towards each individual stores daily turnover. So 7 shops is extra 140 quid for them. Every little helps!

    Yes but that turnover is costing them money, its not making any profit. 7 shops is a £140 loss for Tesco.

    Hello all quick question on the Brahma...s/s states asda £8 for 12 however when i check asda online i can only see 4 bottles at £2.88...am i missing something or is it because i'm in Northern Ireland? Is the comparison done on local prices?

    I bought beef today, barcode was the same as spreadsheet. Not sure why the ones your parents were looking at would be different, tesco isn't smart enough to change the barcode to stop all the dtd'ers.

    I always work it out by calculating what percentage of a kilo it weighs. For instance I bought a rack for £6.28 which is almost exactly 25% of a kilo. Therefore at the Asda rate of £9.72 per kilo the same rack would be £2.43 so the difference would be £3.85 so DTD would be £7.70 ( £1.42)
