I noticed you were a Mancunian.

My 'local' is one from many.

My nearest is Stalybridge, but I prefer Oldham Extra, or Failsworth Extra (today), and have also ventured to Oldham Chadderton, Droylsden (nice staff there but too small and poor DTD items), Greenfield (tiny), and have even tried Rochdale and Middleton Extra's.

Oh and I call in Gorton Extra at least twice a week on my way home (well a bit out of my way but it'd be rude not to).

Only ever found lamb at Oldham Extra (with a heads up from Tazmac25)


Oops and forgot that I also use Manchester Metro, which is very busy, and there's no way you'd ever get sent to CS as it's also the ciggie stand, and is usually 10 deep.

I've not tried Oldham Extra. Couldnt find it in Chadderton today. Hmmm, is it worth a trip there now I wonder...... My "regular" is Middleton. Been to Failsworth a couple of times, but Chadderton today was my first DTD visit. I felt self conscious the whole time though...... Not sure why.

Well the town center store does not normally stock Lake District Cheddar .....as for Magnums there was loads this afternoon along with the spirts and chrizo ring and dertergent etc etc

I wouldn't worry, whilst there are some horrific stories on these threads, all the stores I have mentioned have either been unknowledgable at worst, and downright helpful at best.

The worst I have had is to not know what to do with them, but have NEVER been sent to CS; on a very early occasion at Oldham, they saved the transaction and called a supervisor who recalled it at the adjacent till and put it though. They all seem to now know what to do and whilst the majority like to keep the old receipt, I have no issue with that practice.

I had a £18.xx voucher and grabbed a random bottle of beer to make up the price of the eye cream that was my proper DTD shop - result!!
