The spreadsheet says the Atlantic Cod bar code starts 0292709. I got some today where that bar code was 0292708, so I put it in the fresh reduced section because it was £18. Too much of a risk to me. My question is, does the last 9 matter after the 70?0

If it's civil recovery then it couldn't give you a criminal record.

Haha....I'm just two years behind you, but of course that couple of years has made all the difference. Once they've brought this new legislation in, I won't be able to claim my pension until I'm 65.:( I've got all my years in too.:(:(0 -

One thing that has occurred to me today is how different I view the more mature lady SA's (aka trouts) to how a lot of other people seem to view them. I actually tend to target them for my DTD shopping, since I can make small talk with them, and they're not wondering whether I am trying to pick them up!
Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have never had a problem - I was served by a lovely SA today by the name of Jan (I always scan the name badge before being served, so I can address them by name - it makes it so much more personable) and while she was putting through the usual suspects (toothbrush, razor)I was chatting away to her as to whether she had anything planned for Easter, when she was getting time off, whether she was getting out at all to enjoy the weather - in other words, all the typical fluff that you don't really give two hoots about (in fact, I can't even remember what she said now!)
Here's the thing - as she was a more mature member of staff, I would guess that it is less common for her to have someone chat to her in the fashion. Believe me, I'm not charming them (much!) - I'm 40, short, bald, and unnecessarily ugly, so it's not as if they are putty in my hands. But, and perhaps it's just me, I have found that if you are polite and courteous, and give them a smile, then it seems to work wonders.
Like I said, you can't get away with that so much with a youngster, as life experience hasn't really given them yet the small talk skills (so offense intended to those who are in their teens and can talk the hind legs off a donkey, of course!)
Just an observation ....0
