I had a bad experience today as well.
Went to a new store, not in my local area. Till assistant told me they had to refer ALL DTD vouchers to customer service till. She called the supervisor who marched me and my shopping down there to wait in another line.
When I got there everything went fine until they wanted to write all over my NEW receipt. I strongly objected. First a supervisor was called, then a store manager ...all of this took a while, and took place in front of other customers.
The manger said they were writing on the receipt to make sure I couldn't claim a DTD voucher on my new shopping, as ''you have already had your voucher''
I pointed out the terms & conditions, but she wasn't interested.
In the end I told them I would leave the shopping, but instead of giving me my initial voucher back, then then gave me a cash refund for the value of the voucher!!!! How crazy is that?
I could have just gone and bought the items with the cash instead of the voucher, but I just left. I won't be going back there again :eek:0 -
quick question for the people who update spreadsheet (buy the way great job guys)
when i get my results back from price check if they are all results that are already on spread sheet but they are showing as being confirmed one or 2 days ago should i still send you the results so you can alter confirmed date of deal on spread sheet or do you only want new deals and deals that no longer work sending in ?0 -

It came back today as N/A.
I think it's fine in some stores & not in others - need to scan yourself in-store, if they have one of those 'thingies'!
Guess i was lucky then my store scanned at £12

As far as Tesco are concerened, though, all this talk of 'Fraud' & 'Police' being called is frankly insane!!!
Does anyone really think the Police would be remotely interested in Tesco Customer's Shopping habits?
Plus how would it look on the next edition of 'Watchdog' for Tesco to be marching its customers off to the Police Station for participating in a Sales Promotion? - they'd be crucified in PR terms!
You are NOT a Shoplifter & if you get treated like one, you should be straight onto HO making a formal complaint! Essentially, Tesco or their Marketing Agency have dreamed up a Sales Promotion that has been ill-thought through & is arguably open to exploitation (BUT ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ACTUALLY CHEAPER THAN ASDA - the premise of which underpins the whole concept of the Promotion).
The fact that it is being participated in very enthusiastically by some customers is hardly our fault - we didn't create it!
If they treat customers in the way you have described - not only have they proved they are NOT cheaper than Asda, but also that their Customer Service is appalling - & the next time they mention 'Fraud & 'Police' - you should not hesitate in telling them so! It's Bonkers!!!
hmm agree and disagree. At the end of the day, lets make no bones about it, if you are exploiting a loophole in a promotion, and getting round the (albeit lax) fair use policy, you are defrauding the company. It may not feel like it, but that is what it is. You are intentionally bypassing a fair use policy that has put in place, for not insignificant personal gain.
I don't know how much information is captured at Point of Sale or on the price check website. I think it is worthwhile everyone asking themselves the question over whether they are prepared to be pulled up or investigated based on their shopping pattern. Play by the rules, then you are fine. Flout the rules, and be prepared for an investigation.0 -
