Just getting the sticky.
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 18th April 2011. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Good morning everyone,
Misty and grey here but it is due to brighten so I shall wash bedding and hang it out :)

DD2 made delicious chicken soup yesterday, from the remains of our roast dinner. She was very pleased with herself and I was very proud of her.

DD1 is going to make cottage pie for dinner tonight for 8 of us so that will be lovely.

Really do need to do some major de-cluttering;)

Happy Monday peeps, hugs for those that need or want,
    Cheers, Silver x

    Morning all
Lots of phone calls yesterday, MIL is visiting BIL today, hubby will go up tomorrow, we'll have a better idea what's happening then. Hubby's gone to work now & will ask for tomorrow off.
I need to sort out the kitchen floor & one of the cupboards as we've had a leak that needs sorting out, hubby will look at it tonight. I'm off to clean a flat this morning that has been sold, my friend want to make sure it is all ready to be handed over.
    Spag bol for tea.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hester - hope you get good news re BIL

Looks like the start of another stunning day here, can't believe the weather forcast is good all week!

Am in my office now and gonna get my head down shortly and try to get lots done. Have promised DS that we will go to the Toby Carvery for lunch so will only need something light for tea. Will put some washing on but the washing basket is quite low and the ironing basket is empty :j

At some point today will menu plan for the week and make sure do an online shop as the supermarkets will be mad at the end of the week.

Really really need to get into baking and breadmaking again, will try and find sometime this week.

Best be off, have a great day.x

Just remembered that we are all going out to eat tonight.
Using clubcard quadrupled vouchers from Christmas - need to be used by end of June. Thought we'd use them tonight while DD2 is still here :)
Got to plan in the Cottage pie though for later in the week - don't want to miss that!

Hope all goes well with BIL HH. Read on your blog how complex the family situation is. WOW!!

    Cheers m'dears, Silver x

Morning Silver, Hester and Essexgirl. Hester - hope you hear good news. Thoughts are with you. Essexgirl - I hadn't even thought of the shops being manic at the weekend - thanks for that. OH left for work for the week yesterday and the behaviour of the boys immediately improved (yey!). Well I let them watch Lara Croft and they ate 2 yogurts for tea! Curry didn't seem like the right choice yesterday somehow! Two wet beds last night so I'm glad the weather will ge nice - I must have the cleanest duvets in England!!! We're off to the post office today, where I'll get the boys to help and probably end up buying a sweet as a reward! At home I have two basket loads of ironing and a wash basket that was empty on Saturday night and is now overflowing (thanks OH!) Dinner tonight will be beans for the boys (or spaghetti etc) and salad and rice for me (must eat more veggies!). Hugs to those in need.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning everyone

Sun now shining, going to be a lovely day here again. DH up and off to work, he's taken the boys to MIL's as in the wrong direction for me. Washing on line another load in WM.

Had a very enjoyable weekend, on Saturday visited DH grandad and stayed with him for a while and had some lunch. Boys were at karting, then collected them from mum and dad's, visited friends. Yesterday we managed to get the grass cut and garden tidied, after watching GP, then went to mum's for lunch, was very nice being able to sit outside in the sunshine afterwards. Boys had End of Season dinner, DS1 got Players Player Award, so am a very proud mum at the moment! They had a lovely dinner and were able to eat outside under a marquee, really lovely event organised by the Rugby Club - so good for the children that attend, nice that people still do this kind of thing voluntarily.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning all!

Fantastically warm here today, I so love this weather! Enjoyed a cuppa and my porridge in peace, now a spot of surfing before the monkeys awaken!

Made some ice cream yesterday, was lovely but flavourings needed to be a bit stronger, so will have to play around - will be a huge hardship eating the experiments! Machine is very noisy, but works really well, so I'm very pleased with it.

Went to bed early to watch a film with dd2, and I fell asleep! Bless her, she turned everything off and tucked me up lol!

Today I am hoping to get to the garden centre as I didn't make it yesterday, then I want to plant some more seeds - had leftovers of some of the freebie ones from the papers at work so we were allowed to have them! Got work this afternoon, but it's my short day, so not too bad!

OS stuff will be a spot of dejunking I think, hoovering done last night and so was kitchen, as always the wm and bm need to go on though! Promised to hang dd2's new curtains for her now that she has finished her painting, hopefully won't be too long until her beds are delivered, then the room should really look nice.

Have a good day all xxx

ps Hester, hope that BIL is improving, just off to read back and see if there's news xx
