    Evening all

Two loads of washing done and dried today, including the bedding. Bedrooms cleaned and also landing and living room/hallway. I cut the grass yesterday too.

Think I'l sit in the garden and read the paper for a while.

    Good! You'll be VERY welcome.

Awww thanks.... it's so, so tempting! But whilst DD is still at home it would be unfair to just up and run out on her. Perhaps you could let me know what the cheap (but "good" - i.e. not inner city type!) villages are and maybe I'll start looking....

What are places like Crich like to live in?

    Awww JennyJ... huge hugs....

Mumto5 - ouch! Hope the little one's little pinky is put back v. quickly and painlessly...

I've had a quiet day. Had a restless, achy night with this damned cold and even succumbed to dropping a neurofen this morning just to try and shift things. It seemed to help. My nose is now dripping like a tap who's washer hasn't been changed for a century but the aches are no more.

Felt really bad when NN phoned to say she was back after picking up the bits and pieces I asked for from the supermarket. It being a stonking hot day, the traffic in town (being on a south coast resort) was horrendous and it took her ages to get out back home.

But, I have done some writing today which is good. Tomorrow I'm hoping I'll feel well enough to get down on my hands and knees and scrub the kitchen floor. It really is a disgrace....

Oh, and today's the 15th anniversary of the death of my Dad. It seems, paradoxically, not only a lifetime ago but also just a moment ago away.

No I don't need sympathy, I'm OK with it - I was there at the end (he hadn't answered the phone, I took an early lunch and went round to his to find him on his way upwards) - ambulance blue light etc. but to no avail in the end) and it was a relief for him.

But, I am going to light a candle and pour a glass of something alcoholic and raise it in his general direction (heavenwards!)

    Then I'll do dinner..

    Hi all

Quick(ish) post, as I still have my brain training to do.;)

    Valli you have a pm!:hello:

Did some more gardening today; we were out there about an hour. Unfortunately, it went a tad pearshaped this afternoon, as I collapsed. I hate it when that happens!:(

    Think I’m OK now, though.;)

Piggers sorry to hear about Sally.:(

    Triker sleep well, little Silkie:(

    Mrs_B I’d be honoured to share Mr Dog’s biccies!:D

    Welcome Goodintentions.:o

Mumto5 ooh, ouchy! Hope DS1’s toe isn’t too ‘orribly painful.:(

Oh yes, next door had another BBQ earlier. I couldn’t make my mind up if they were cooking old trainers, tyres, or cowpats._pale_

Right, I must get on; Mr LW has WiiFit to do, and hopefully he’ll fetch my mini-walker for me to do that while I do the brain training. (Multi tasking, or what?):D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

BBQ eaten, kids' bedrooms done apart from making the beds which DH has said he will do. All upstairs hoovered apart from my bedroom - which you can't see the floor in but that's another story - need to go and find DS's stuff sack for his sleeping bag now so I can put it away.

I have half a fence painted, an erected BBQ.. and still not got to the shop.. gggrrrr....

Food eaten.. Squeak spread fish finger all over the carpet so I'll whizz Henry over that while OH gets her jims on. She is shouting a her toys at the moment and telling the jumperoo off..

Baby stuff washed.. and the bouncy chair ready to put away for Dot. high chair washed so it will be nice for her to spread breakfast on in the morning.

    PJ's for Squeak
Swift 5 minute tidy in my room..
Get duvets from girls room in the WM.. then I'll do the ones from the middle room that DS1 has been using.
    Clean loo
and then get Squeak to bed for about 8 hopefully.. might have OH try her with some slop.. she was up at 5:30 hungry this morning :(

My thoughts are with you for this time Soappie. In 3 months time yesterday it is 5yrs since my Dad died. The time has flown by since then and a lot has happened since that time but I still remember the hospital time and it makes me think it wasn't that long ago.

As for me tea is eaten, cake is baked and all washing up is done :D One load of WM about to go on ready to put out tomorrow.

Right foot is hurting big style and will have to report all this to the physio this week as things don't feel that great in that area and I'm fed up to the back teeth of not being able to run and my walk in the Peaks yesterday has triggered things off again. I'm not prepared to give up what I enjoy

Soappie and Feup agree with you both. Dad would have been 70 this coming Tuesday; it was 6 years in January since he died. It seems so long ago and yet so raw sometimes. At squash today when grandparents were there I thought Dad would have loved this he was such a keen player and to be there would have been wonderful. I still can't really get past memories and images of him being so ill and I find that hard. I try to force the happy memories but they seem so far away. I often think if I could just have one day with him being well it would be so nice. I'll stop now as I'm upsetting myself.

The sky has darken so I'm hoping for some rain. Time to go and make up 2 beds with the lighter duvets.

DS1's toe is fractured and dislocated. 3 people had to hold him down while they tried to put it back (he's a 6ft tall streak of bacon with surprising strength). Just had X-rays and now waiting for it to be strapped.

I hope this isn't going to impact on his college course. It's A First Diploma in Sport :( It's due to finish in 6 weeks time. I hope it's continuous assessment as he's going to be rather compromised for the practical assessment.

I NEED a glass of Wine.
