Can I join you all please? I could do with a big kick up the bum!!
Welcome aboard and good luck.
Just amending my food delivery for tomorrow and then EVERYBODY is doing a HH tidy up so I can clean easily and quickly tomorrow morning fancy joining us at 8:15?The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Joining you Dusty

Valli - I don't have any solutions to offer, but know what it feels like. It's one of the few things DS1 has really upset me with in the past (2 Germany exchanges and 1 lot of GCSE results). However, I also did it to my mum once, when I visited DH's family over here for the first time.Any suggestions for authors of a similar ilk gratefully received?
Don't know about similar ilk, but every so many years I feel the urge to re-read Wilkie Collins.
After lunch I managed 2hrs school work, pegged more washing out, took DS2 to the park (could have stayed the whole day, as it was so lovely), took cat to the vets, did tea and brought washing in for DH to iron.
I'd be grateful if people with cat experience could advise me. According to the vet little cat is over 1 year, but more likely two years old. No way of telling if she has been spayed or had a litter in the past. Do I go for an op which may not be necessary or risk the pitter-patter of tiny paws? She has definitely been around people before, but nobody seems to be missing her and she's been with us since February now.
Plan for tonight:
work
tidy kitchen
make twinks
put clothes away0 -
Not quite flying today, but definitely OS. Been cooking/blanching/freezing everything that stands still before going off on holiday tomorrow. Also picked up 2 new bits of work to do while I'm away. :T
Now I need to pack. Ugggh. Oz has worked out that we are going somewhere. I think he thinks he's off to kennels as he's very clingy.
Will still be flying while I'm away - housekeeping and cooking for 8 divers. Why do I volunteer for these things?GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -

If she has been going out and hadn't been spayed you'd know by now... If she hasn't been going out and hasn't had a season then he chances are she has been done.. Keep her in a little longer, they usually have a season about now anyway so if she's not had one by May she's done. Playing devil's advocate: What if she hasn't been spayed and hasn't had a season yet? She's only been around since Feb. I can't keep her in, as she doesn't seem to know how to use a litter tray and simply asks to go out every so often.0 -
I agree with Pigpen about cats. We took our cat on in the same circumstances and didn't know either way. 5 years later we haven't had any kittens!
I went back to work today. Nothing much was happening so I spent the time browsing ebay looking for a suitable dress for DD1 for my niece's hen do.
Can anyone recommend a nice place on the for a long weekend at the end June? I am overawed by the choice on the internet and can't see the wood for the trees.
I've changed all the kids beds today as it's such good drying weather. I really hurt my hand pulling the fitted sheet on top bunk. I must remember I'm only 8 days post hand surgery!0 -

It is highly unlikely given the time of year and her age that she wouldn't have had a season yet., this isn't called kitten season for nothing! Also if you check her left side you may be able to see the tiny scar.. it is usually about an inch or so long.. if she lets you look that closely.. 2 of mine do 2 don't.. if her nips are reddish and larger than a grain of dry rice she is likely to have had a litter.. not very scientific but fairly accurate. If she shows the vaguest sign she might be starting (licking her bits, stuffing her bum in the face of anything and everything and yowling like a tortured thing) whizz her to the vet immediately and they can give them an injection to stop it and can spay her immediately it has ended..
And.. if she lays on her right side (they usually spay from left side) and you rub firmly but not to hurt her smooth lines along her side you should be able to feel the scar tissue from a spaying.
instead of a litter tray try a planter with some soil in..

Thanks pigpen, Mumto5 and hex. I'll keep a close eye on her and see how it goes. We're due back at the vet's in 3 weeks for her booster. This time it was quite easy to get her into the basket, but next time she'll know what's happening...0
