You obviously know better than the regular posters on here and the thousands of people who have successfully ignored these PPC threatograms.

So my advice is .....Send off the cheque post haste.

Thanks for putting us all right.

Better still, I know the real address of the company, if you would like to send the cheque to me, sorry them, I'll send it to you. If not just continue to ignore them.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Thanks for all your help and replies. But please there is no need to be rude. i am asking a question because i don't know the answers and asking you lot who will know more than me. I was just checking adresses out just to see and wonderered if it would make a difference. for example was this letter from some one posing as the real company. I just didn't know.

However, i am concerned that I entered the number on the website and wondered if this could be classed as a "communication". Don't shoot me down in flames!!

I am also worried about being the 0.01% that do get taken to court!

    HI Taffy

When I looked at the info / videos, it seemed to be people who had not broken the "contract" in any way.

I just wondered how the companies make money if they don't take it to court. Surely this process costs them money. This particular car park isn't busy so I don't know if they do successfully proscute. Can they use CCTV footage of the driver getting into the car?

    I appreciate peoples advice.

    Thanks again

    Meames

This particularly company has never ever done court (like 99.9% of these companies).

They make money by taking down reg numbers and buying the keeper's address from the DVLA. The DVLA will sell an address to anybody in exchange for £2.50.

They send some threatening letters and 40% of people will pay up. The other 60% are just binned.

They are not interested in the identity of the driver. Too much time and effort to bother with CCTV footage.

It's a minimum effort business model. Most of the people who run these companies just have them as a side-business.

Whether you communicated with them or not is irrelevant.

Give me money or I will take you to court !!

There ! are you worried now ? well that will be £50 reduced to £30 if you cough up in 14 days.

Can you see how the $ cam works ?, I issue a meaningless and unenforcible threat, you get worried and pay, easy money !!
Ignore PPC Tickets, they are just begging letters

Not sure what I have written that prompted this response. As I have already stated I appreciate any advice and was just asking questions I have no point stated that I know better. I don't, that is why I am asking. I just want to cover all bases and check all sources.

meames, I understand entirely because I am that 0.01% who got taken to court. In the extremely unlikely event that you get to join me in that percentage there is plenty of help here.

By the way, I won the case - and that was without any assistance from here because I didn't know know the forum existed - and let me assure you, it wasn't difficult!
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

I won't name the company - although it wasn't TPS. There were signs and they even had photos of the car entering and leaving.

I believe that the reason why they issued proceedings was because I wrote to them and they felt that they had a "live one" and had I not responded at all they would just have passed me by. This really is a numbers game and the chances of you receiving court papers is very small.

The post to pay attention to is that of AlexisV.

Sorry meames, it's not you personally!

It's because we are asked the same questions every single day, several times over, day after day, from people who don't read the sticky threads at the top of the board first. The info you need is all there, that's how forums work. Always read the stickies before posting on a new forum:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

You only needed to read Crabman's two top threads 'PPC letters what to Expect' and 'Welcome, please read before posting'(!!:p!!) and you would already have your answers. Please read them now and also, cast your eye down the list of new threads on that link...pages and pages and pages every single day! You will see from the sheer number of new threads, why we get a bit bored sometimes with fielding the same questions already covered in the stickies...:)

Anyway, once you have read the stickies and seen the Watchdog clip, there will be no stopping you in ignoring the well-known letters and ticking each pathetic, standard computerised threatogram off as it arrives and matches our pictures.

Nothing will happen. No Court, no CCJ, no bailiff, no effect on your credit record.
