I wouldn't accept that. Sod the police, go to the top. Ring David Cameron. And don't accept them fobbing you off with that Nick Clegg character either, it's Dave or you're taking it to Europe.
No they need Judge Judy, the cases are real, the people are real, the rulings are final
:D. She would make you pay up. 0 -

Whoa! Steady on, DCFC79.
If you're not careful the OP will start a(nother) thread on the 'Praise, Vent & Warnings' board about how some users can be rude and nasty. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
At least she managed to post THAT on the right board. :cool:0 -

I got the impression that the OP lost the phone that their sister's boyfriend lent (or 'borrowed' as they put it) them while waiting for the insurance replacement to arrive.
The insurance replacement was of course promptly sold (the proceeds either used to fund the upgrade or add to Thailand savings) and then claimed to have been lost in the post when the OP's sister's boyfriend asked for it back when the OP refused to pay the insurance excess. If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -

the phone the bf lent the op was faulty(thats how the replacement phone came into it)
the replacement phone was sold but she told the bf that they had lost it on a bus
i was actually confused there, the replacement phone was sold on ebay but she told the bf she had sent it back but in actual fact it was lost (have i got that right)
anyway had enough for now, need to pop out0 -

the replacement phone was sold but she told the bf that they had lost it on a bus and pocketed the money for the trip to thailand
It doesn't appear that way to me ... As I understand the first post the OP's phone broke, they borrowed one to bridge the gap and also made an insurance claim at the same time for their original one (both the loan phone and insurance being provided by the OP's sister's boyfriend). They then sold the insurance replacement and said they lost it and also 'genuinely' lost the borrowed one, leaving the sister's boyfriend out of pocket. If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -
Not how I read it.the phone the bf lent the op was faulty(thats how the replacement phone came into it)
the replacement phone was sold but she told the bf that they had lost it on a bus and pocketed the money for the trip to thailand
From my understanding, the OPs original phone broke/was lost/was sold. The boyfriend lent the OP a phone, to tide her over until the replacement from the insurance arrived.
The replacement wasn't an upgrade, so she sold that one and told the boyfriend she had returned it to him, and the postal service must have lost it, refusing to pay the excess. The phone the boyfriend lent her was the one "lost on the bus" (sold).Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0
