MegS wrote:You must have the same HV as I had, rang to ask what she recommended for teething when DS was 8 weeks old, was told not to be so stupid he's too young to teethe. I told her to come and have a look as he had his two bottom teeth through and perhaps she might want to change the textbook she relied on. .
Think I will be showing her on Monday!0 -
my little one is 14 weeks and he is teething. I have had the go ahead for 2+ calpol ( bottle ) and the odd ashton and parsons . I swear by these two as my other children where great on both.
go for it.:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
I also swear by anbesol liquid.
My DD cut her first tooth at 12 weeks and I breastfed til she was 13 monthsFat and proud lol0 -
But of course the experts are never wrong - I was told categorically that babies didn't dribble, get red cheeks, have diarrhoa or sniffles as a result of teething when I asked what symptoms to look for. According to the real experts (mothers) babies can suffer with all of these.0

I'm glad I've seen this post, my grandaughter is almost 4 months old now but has been showing all the symptoms of teething for the past 3 weeks or so, its obviously more common than people think. Apparently my mum says I cut my first tooth at 4 months.0

A bib like This was great when our wee one was teething she dribbled for Scotland and the thicker soft neck thing (?? hey I'm a bloke) stopped everything getting soaked all the time. Anyone know how such a tiny thing can produce such large volumes of things ie dribble, snooters(what we call nasal mucus) vomit etc
Hope your LO is feeling better soon0 -

Mine were opposite to all the babies in this thread. They didn't have a single tooth by their first birthday, and both were about 18 months old before they appeared!
The health visitor was incredibly concerned and made a big fuss about, but I was happy just to sit back and let the teeth arrive when they were good and ready. They must have had super tough gums, as it didn't put them off eating. The both loved chewing on things like the end from a crusty baguette! Here I go again on my own....0 -
My third child was born with 1 tooth at the front of his mouth. So it does happen. Midwife was very surprised and said in all her career it was only the second time she'd seen it.

Ashton and Parson ... i would be in prison now if it hadnt have been for these little things!!!
and Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream for any sore dribble rashes etc. ( buy it on line much cheaper especially if you go through Quidco):EasterBun ...what more do I need to say?!
its all in the name of medical science.0 -
anbesol liquid worked for us, and at bedtime some calpol mixed into his bedtime bottle of milk.
teething seems to happen at different times for no reason - both of mine had 4 teeth by 3 months (properly sticking out, not just under the surface) and roo had 12 teeth before his birthday but his friend didn't have any.
i got toothache while i was pregnant and it was horrible so i have sympathy for teething babies and would always try a bit of anbesol because they can hurt before they actually break through.
sometimes they don't appear in the 'correct' order either, although both of mine's did. so your babe might get a tooth at the side before the front ones appear.52% tight0
