recommend as very often a gab is cheaper as such
what is `gab'?0 -
bag not gab - sorry... LOL
Checked Skinners feeding guide:
http://www.skinnerspetfoods.co.uk/alt/Feeding-Guide/
So it is about 450 g per day so 1 bag would last Zara 33 days. That is good - provided she will eat it and it won't upset her stomach of course.....0 -
If you contact skinners they will send you some samples. Also if you do change do it very slowly over several days mixing in a little of the new food with the old there is less chance of it upsetting tummy that way.0

Need to work out price per month for Zara on teh food you recommend as very often a gab is cheaper as such but one has to feed more so the overall cost does not change - sigh..... Will calculate as looked at Skinners already before but do nto remember what it worked out as?
I feed 275 g Orijen per day, I believe Skinners recommendation was 450g per day (so nearly double the amount) - need to work this out price wise...
I am not awar of Zara being allergic as such but she does have a very sensitive tummy - which is not fun with a long haired GS with a lot of long hair on her butt if her stomach plays up - as I am sure yu can imagine...
Thanks a lotrita-rabbit wrote: »recommend as very often a gab is cheaper as such

I would say that with both Wainwrights & Skinners I don't need to feed as much as they suggest - Mr B gets around 375g (either) so that would make it last a bit longer too!:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Thanks a lot - had Skinners samples before and Zara would not touch it. may try again....
I know about mixing food and increasing the new one slowly, got enough Orijen for about 2 months still, will get some Skinners and start mixing up.
Just wondering which flavour to get for her... At the moment she is on Orijen Original and Orijen Fish (mixed together)..
Thanks again0 -

ps the area around where you take your dog is stunning......
Oh it is, I absolutely love it here - I am across the road (2 min) from Wanstead Flats and 3 min away from Wanstead park - the aerial photo below may give you an idea as to where zara enjoys her walks
I am not where the little cross is but very close by...
And Wanstead Flats stretches much further than the photo shows, goes into Epping Forest.
East London is NOT the best part of London but the little place where we are is absolute gem, well hidden too0 -

You could maybe try the Salmon & Rice one?
It's slightly more expensive from our pet shop but found one online (very quick look so you may find cheaper) about the same price as the Duck:

You can get smaller bags - more expensive but more expensive if you're not sure she'll eat it so may be worth a try to test it.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

could you not buy glucosamin for horses, and adjust the dose.
Its super cheap in bulk like that, I get it for my old mare.

re the Glucosamine, I get mine from an online place & get the Glucosamine & Chrondroitin - much better quality than the supermarkets & much better prices.
He also gets Green Lipped mussel which is great for joints (and many - expensive! - dog foods have in them).
Have a look and see what you think:
