i thought about going to tv station, 1 just a mile away, wonder if i can just stroll in, can we be sacked for doing so, do we have any rights...0

Maybe we can on an individual basis all go in or phone up . Tell them our situation, how we are all frightened for our jobs, see if they will help us.Got to be a good headline.0

if you would like, why dont you come round and i will make you a cuppa, you clearly think you must know everything about me and my situation a while ago? i can assure you that you would be wrong.
oh hold on, you must be one of those keyboard warriors who sit at home and think they know everything, if you know so much please tell me the lotto numbers.
Okay, PM me if you'd like to meet up. Perhaps I'll be able to show you how to manage your money over a cup of tea, although I'm more of a coffee person.0 -

To be honest, I'd be surprised if the press were very interested. And even if it were, I can't see the masses getting enraged about it and calling for action.
Best bet is for one agent to go through the court system with a test case to determine whether or not the fines are fair and reasonable and, perhaps to determine what the employment status of agents really is. Are they (part time) employees or self employed? I suspect Provident would be reluctant to have that last issue settled by a court.
An alternative is direct action, but that would need a lot of organisation and it may carry some risk. But, if you could pull together and, perhaps, refuse to collect payments for a week or two Provident would probably sit up and take note.0 -

A word to the wise OK!
The vast majority of agents have been Provident customers in the past.
This is why the agent has every sympathy and empathy for their customers because they have been there themselves.
An agent doesn't want to give you a loan that you will not be able to continue with the repayments because the agent will not make any commission from you consequently it's non productive isn't it?
The reason the agents are grieved is that if you as a customer can no longer afford to repay your loan regularly, then the agent is being fined out of their commission (wages) for your failure to keep up your payments.
Because agents are technically self employed, something which needs to be confirmed by HMRC, agents have no legal representative or body to confront the employer (Provident) with any issues or grievances, consequently agents are afraid to complain through fear of losing their jobs and in this economic climate with mortgages and families depending on wages agents are attempting to come together to confront the Provident so that a mutual conclusion can be attained.
No one is on here complaining about individual customers infact on the contrary, customers have been very supportive to their agents who incidentally are also friends.0 -
To be honest all this is totally pointless. No one is willing to stand up and organise some kind of action. Do you really think provident will start sacking agents after all the bad publicity they have had recently? That would look good in the mirror wouldnt it?
Someone needs to start organising something and we all need to put our names to it. To be fair to provident for all they know we could be a load of shoppacheck staff on a wind up, on here they have no idea who is posting on here and that is the excuse they will use for ignoring all the comments here.
After 37 pages of complaints i think it time to either put up or shut up0 -
