I can understand Provi wanting to recover some of the monies that they lose (ie. share the risk), but sometimes this is scandalous. Here is my situation....

I was given four head office leads a few weeks ago which I went out to visit. I told my DM that I didn't really think that they were the type of people that would pay ( I should know, I have been an agent for almost 20 years). He said he understood my position but told me to issue anyway as the region were desperate for sales. I issued as instructed and they haven't paid since. I have called each week and sometimes on more than one occasion, but to date I have not had a payment. This new policy kicked in the week they changed to a stage 6 arrears and I lost £20. Guess what....they haven't paid since then and this week they will move to a stage 9 arrears and I will lose another £40. In total I have lost £60 for these people who I never wanted on my clip, yet wasted valuable time and petrol money calling at their door.

This is scandalous, but it gets worse......

On the first week this kicked in, one of our agents walked who had some real junk on their book as she lost a lot of money with people changing from stage 5 to 6 and stage 8 to 9. She wasn't the only one to walk and we have been asked to "help out" by sharing her book out. Some of these bad payers were transferred to my book and some of them are this week changing to a stage 9 arrears which means I will lose £10 for each of them. Scandalous.

I have over 200 clients on my round and last week I only received just over half of my normal wage with just a few bad payers. I cannot afford to live like this and although I cannot afford to resign, I am looking for a new job that I can afford to live on. We have lost several agents from the office and to my knowledge there are 3 more of us that are looking for another job. Between the 3 of us, we have over 40 years experience. Do Provi really want to lose this loyal agent base that cuts out a lot of poor lending...... don't think so. The people at the top really need to rethink their strategy of how they take this business forward.

I'm dreading this weeks commission statement as I have so many bills to pay. :(

i think that too they will have thought this through down to the last letter!! they probabley have banked on us doing something like this too(as in complaining on this website)
so they will offer us some kind of watered down scheme which will not be much more different but they will say they are making an effort to help us .We cannot let anything stand in our way to stop this scheme in its tracks ....hit them were it hurts no sales from wk 20 ,no canvas crap, no transfers, just make as much hassle as we can and make things more and more difficult wk by wk by wk. and how about this any one who costs you 15.00 DONT CALL THERE AGAIN LET THE COMPANY TAKE THEM TO COURT IT WILL COST THEM MORE THAN 15.00 !!!:T
thats the best way, dont go to any customer that costing us and no sales and dont bank till thursday morning provident will lose alot more than we will, :rotfl:

Every day I hope that the powers that be will see the mistake they have made. Agents like yourselves, with years experience and me included are feeling sheer frustration at this. I also had customers transferred to me that cost me the very first week this came into effect. I will never knock the door again of anyone that costs me because they cant be bothered to pay. Genuine cases I accept but the cant be bothered, well the can go to recovery. I will not waste another minute of my time or penny of petrol etc in chasing these. Plus myself and any other agents will not collect books that are vacant due to agents leaving because of this scheme. These deductions are totally counter productive and write off will increase as far as im concerned. Each day more and more 'newbies' are joining this site, which is good. And im amazed at how many people have been told its only them thats complaining!

I myself have been an agent for many years, my agency is not big, but i understand the situation with this recession, so i do not expect to earn as much as i did this time last year. Sadly to say i am like alot of agents loosing money, and very sad to even think about leaving this company, but now i am at breaking point. As for not alot of agents joining this site, its probably because they know that all the moaning in the world is not going to change FATTIES mind. Oh well FATTIE get on with it, you will be sorry in the long run, as no agents no customers, and what goes round comes round, and dont worry about your weight cos the £'s will soon drop off .

cannot believe they expect us to collect books where agents have left.No agents should do this,as it will only help them to continue with their fines.Cannot sack you for not collecting another agency.

The problem is teamspirit, the powers that be will never admit they got it wrong. They will lose some bloody good loyal agents because of this. I've not been with provi for more than a year but have made some great friends (customers, agents and managers too). Its a shame its come to this. I'm off regardless, even if they put this mess right next week. Im taking a job with a rival company that hasnt changed its commision policy for years. I'll be taking my quality customers with me as their loans with provi end, esp as the new company are alot less interest. I know of 6 agents at my branch that are leaving without any notice and doing the same as me next week. ie getting a float cheque taking their wages plus the money STOLEN from us then not collecting the clip. I hope Mr Crook is proud of himself and gets the sack. I'll post what happens when the office find out whats happened with us. Lol.

Hi, you may or may not remember me? I started the first post on here and have been astounded by the way this has taken off. There have been a lot of good comments, good advice, as well as some not so good. By the looks of it the site would appear to be monitored by head office and higher management and this shows they are running scared! I would think lots of people have their own ideas about the best way to hit them hard but if everyone does the same thing ie week 20 no sales then there will be a lot of enforced job losses. it needs to be more subtle than that, I like the idea that if you are hit with a fine then you do not call on that customer again hence saving you time money etc but costs the company money. remember if your DM is doing their job correctly then they will call get a payment but be forced to transfer account as you wont collect it. Would you accept a transfer? no didn't think so, result 12 week non payer transferred to central debt recovery = loss of customers and loss of bonus for everyone. Keep up the fight as we are doing well and together we will beat the b--tar-s. good luck
