It wont happen to me as I own my own company and dont work for anyone else.0

I have been looking for a new job since last July and trust me it is not that easy. To illustrate my point I have just gone to the job centre website and performed a search for any job within a 15 mile radius and there were only 100 in total! That is everything from CEO of a company down to toilet scrubber so I am not sure where this wealth of new opportunities is!
As for retraining..this of course costs money and you would not be guaranteed a job at the end of it anyway.
Personally I do like my job, I like the flexibility it allows me, I like my customers and until recently found the pay reasonable(ish) what I object to is being penalised for something beyond my control, I like the majority of my customers, I find the friendly approach works if the customer likes me they want to pay me and I don't want to be forced into harrassing/resenting them so I can afford to feed my kids! If this new structure is for good then I will be moving on, as another agent pointed out we didn't sign up to be debt collectors!
I did not say I didn't understand your reasoning for hating the company just that it has clouded your opinion on this particular subject. Although I would say the situation your friend is in is a very unusual one, his agent was clearly a thief and not representitive of the rest of us agents! The company does have security measures in place to sift out any dishonesty, I had someone checking up on my books just the other week and I am sure this rogue agent will have been dealt with.
If your friend provides his payment book for the area manager to see the weekly receipts proving he made the payments they will wipe the debt out it should be that simple.0 -

That was done a long time ago the area manager stated that as the paperwork was not up to date as the actual agent was allways saying that he would fill in the paperwork later on and out of approx 10 payments there were only 1 or 2 listed so it is a case of prooving it but this agent has since been found to have taken money off of numerous others and yet provident are trying to defend it and keep saying that it will only accept the payments listed being taken off of said loan.
Now its is with there solicitors and I think they should have acted more responsable here and looked at the bigger picture the area manager even said he knew what had gone on after it came to light but yet innocent people are most likely to be paying twice for an out an out thief !
As for it costing to retrain you can go to night college for next to nothing and even get grants no matter what your situation.0 -
Thanks Scooby088,
This lot on here seems to a bit inept and do not understand the word forum as do the rest of us that do post on here quite often.
I also think as do a lot of others that they cannot grasp the fact that out of a 100 users on here there are perhaps one that cares what they have to say.
I suggest they all shut up and go somewhere else as there wining is getting a bit monotonous.
Getting really bored of you - why dont you crawl back under your stone, or better still get back to your other threads and scheme how you can con the bank and next credit card into accepting partial settlements (o yes folks this what crazyboy is all about) - you are a IDIOT!!!0 -

If you'd worked for a company for many years , then without any warning your wages were cut by 70% you would be screaming. Its a drop many cant cope with in one week with no warning at all. Maybe it should have been implemented a month or so before it came into force, but it didnt. No warning. Just the system changed overnight. Most agents love their job so tio say find another job is not the answer for them. If it had haoppened to you in your job, whatr would you do. How longb could most people stand on greatly reduced income while looking for another job !!!!
I thought you were going bye !!0 -

Oooohhhhh
Touched a nerve here then, is this what you are about resulting to childish name calling in the hopes that you can feel better about yourself.
All I have stated is some facts about a case I know, and also that I think you need to move on and either seek different employment or put up with it, there are no doubt others that will carry out the work you do and not sit there and whine about.
One more thing I will no lower myself to your rather inept level of name calling as it is pure child play0 -

Aha It's a shame your friend was so trusting! If he cannot prove he made the payments that is where the problem is. Not all customers are honest either can you imagine how many of this agents customers were probably saying they paid him once they got wind of the situation?
Always get a receipt!!
As for retraining it is still a few hundred quid if you are workng and also no time ..as I am working0 -

I know he shouldnt have been as trusting as he was and I can only pressume it will be a costlt lesson for him in relation to trust, my point is that surely if a agent has been discovered as a thief then they should be questioning more of his collections made and not simply sending in the dogs to collect, especialy as there are at least 5 or 6 others in a simulare position.
Can you not get a grant to retrain ?0 -
