well said Demoralised...Im with the agents and I think provident have really treated their agents badly and dont deserve to have a loyal workforce. There are other home lending companies out there who would be glad of good agents....get your name in with some of them.....its not going to get any better with provident, in fact I think it will only get worse. If one person has already paid £1000 in fines this year ,multiply that by the number of agents and see how much revenue they are getting from their agents........hmmmm , I wonder if the tax man knows of this0

I am self employed but not as an agent or in anyway anything to do with home credit at all. What have I to gain from lying? I left as an agent in 2006 or thereabouts.
As I said out of touch, the words came out of your own mouth.Reading on this blog about fines is not the same as having to pay them,as I also said Provident of today is a completely different company to the one you worked as an agent for in 2006, all your comments were valid then but not now.One of the real problems is that too large a part of DM's wages are bonus driven, give them a fair basic and allow them to deal with arrears and leave the selling to the people who actually know the customers and their problems THE AGENTS.Stop penalizing agents twice for non payers ie reduced commision plus fines, and remember we are a subprime lender so no agent is ever going to have a 100% book, something provident has already allowed for when setting interest rates, so why the necessity to claw back even more from agents wages.Provident start valueing what is left of your agent workforce before it is too late, then maybe we can stop this downwards spiral before it gets out of control.0 -
Be aware, be very aware of the gold card. Everyone and his uncle seem to of had letters about these. Even customers with arrears. Warning bells are sounding here. Give a gold card now to a customer in arrears what happens end of jan into feb when all their other bills come in. O yes we get the £5 and £10 fines. Dont say i havent warned you....0

demoralised I do know what things are like now, im not so out of touch as you say. If I was out of touch I wouldnt know about these fines etc would I? I dont know of any office like yours where the managers have so much control over the agents. How has it got to that?
19england66 it tells me you have no control over your agency and have overcommitted your customers. Fair enough some can go bad through no fault of yours but come on, a third of your book gone bad.
I don't know what world you live in Crooky, but I'll tell you someting it's poles apart from ours.0 -

Is there any way I can block my address from Provident? My husband keeps taking out loans with them then not paying them back leaving it to me to pay back, I would like it so next times he goes behind my back for another loan he is turned away because the house is blocked.0

I see on the agentsayno webpage that provident are now under investigation by the BBC. Not before time now perhaps their underhand tactics will be brought into the open0

If a customer pays in advance, how can that be missed payments, you're bound to have some customers who pay all there payments once a fortnight or once a month. They are not in arrears. This saves you petrol money. Duhdoinadaftjob wrote: »to all agents,
did you know that if a customer goes on holiday and pays up front for the 2 weeks that they are away...it will be classed as 2 missed payments and our commission will be cut from 9.5% to 8%.
also if a customer cant pay for a week or so our commission and our petrol will be hit...surley these are enough fines for us agents.
again last week i asked for a detailed list of the hits and wins...again i havent got one.
has anyone got a customer who has gone to a debt management company? i have 2 on my book and i am told ''if a letter gets sent to the office i will be immune to any charges''...i have been hit twice £30 total and i have seen a debt management letter but my office still keep dragging their feet to repay me.
cheesed off to say the least!0
