  • So I don't know about u guys but loads of ppl on my book lost theirs jobs at Xmas... Result week five 115 lost on charges and it's been like that every week since, I'm not about to start giving grief to ppl who are already struggling pushing them for money they simply don't have. Most have been paying a few quid which let's face it is one of the reasons they come to us because they know they won't pay more if they fall behind. I have four ppl who have gone to debt management this week so there's £60 I will be charged because the paperwork never comes though before ur hit with charges. Result? I'm leaving I've been looking for a few weeks and tomoz I have an interview with shopacheck who treat their agents properly and I can go back to being the careful caring agents I have been for the last few yrs and not the door banging grumpy one they are trying to create all the name of pushing ppl to far.
  • If anyone from Ayrshire Scotland is following this blog can they please confirm the rumours that an entire office there,AM,DM's and agents left together and set up with rival company, your help with this would be very helpful, also name of company they went with please.
  • hi I believe they have. not sure if its the whole office or just a few. I know for definite the a.m and at least 1 d.m has gone. I think there has been a few but not had any numbers confirmed. they went to a company called SKYLINE DIRECT, they are a belfast company and pay 12% commission on a sliding scale depending on your bad debt. hope this helps

Thanks for that, 12% commision!!!!!!!!!!! WOW come on Skyline roll out across the UK, you will be very surprised at how many other am's,dm's and agents are just waiting to jump ship plus their customers, because crook and Co still don't get it the customers are very loyal to their agents if treated right.

Hi yes I can confirm to date 10 agents have walked over. I think you're right the sooner they roll out across Britain the better of everyone concerned. Apparently at the conferences that were rolled out over Scotland they were not concerned over SKYLINE DIRECT but I hope they have underestimated them.

we have been hit with these charges for a year now and i have emailed bradford because i would like an update to what i have lost or gained lol NOT in the last year oh and to see how they think its going
every week i hear an agent shouting at there dm so i know its not going well in our office
    !!!
  • I need to ask a relevant question, have any agent or dm's on here EVER been told that the pot deductions and commission system is designed so agents all share the commercial risk of lending along with the company.

We were never told this, how ever, i have in my posession proof that this is what the companies stand point is.

No where on a current contract does it state this.
  • Firstly, I don't work for Provident (I used to)

As you all say its been a year now and despite all of your moans and plans for action the sum total of what you have done collectively is zero! 10 agents going to another company? big deal!

Have you read the Company report when the profits were posted?

Bad debts down, most agents earning more money? (are you allowed to lie in company reports or is that a fact?)

I suspect that you will keep moaning on here but lets face it - thats as far as it goes, most agents are probably still commited to their agencies, enjoy the flexibility and (if they are good at what they do) earn good money for doing a good job (and yes i know how hard they work and admire them for it)

I imagine i will be slated for these comments but thats how i read the situation

You left Provident, thousands of us have as well.

The vast majority of Provident Agents are middle aged women, self employed, no employment rights, working on their own walking the streets at night trying to earn a living.

They have no-one to turn to when they are treated unfairly, all they can do is make others aware by posting on forums such as this.

Having deductions on your pay slip hurts and it's not fair on Agents when genuine customers suffer financial hardship and can't afford to pay, the Agent is deducted money through no fault of their own.

The Company report and profits ? Yes, read it. Customer numbers down 1.9% no increase in Home Credit profits and a loss of Agents.

Bad debts down ? Of course they are, they issued millions less than last year.

Most Agents earning more money ? Well, I guess they must be as I see no Agents complaining on internet forums, only 134,000 views on this thread and don't dare look on agentssayno.co.uk

Lie in Company reports ? Never, just ask Olympus.

Yes, Agents work really hard for their commission, it's just hard for them accept money is taken off them when customers go into arrears. That doesn't motivate Agents, it hurts them.

All they can do is post their grievances on the internet, and they will continue to do so whilst they are unfairly penalised for customers who fall into arrears, when those customers are struggling to make ends meet.

Provident don't charge their customers for going into arrears, they charge their Agents.

    That's wrong.
