We phone up each week to pay instead of the agent. Why? Saves waiting in for her and making small talk! She probably will not be happy, but Provident get the money at the end of the day0

when i started i was told by my DM that i was not included in these charges for the first 12 weeks but any accounts that i managed to increase (even though there was decreases) would be put into a 'special savings pot' and i would get this money at the 13th week..........guess what, i havent recieved this 'special savings pot'
my queries are that if a customer goes to C.A.B. does that mean the agent will lose a £5 and £10 sum when the customer eventually falls into arrears?
if a customer goes on a waiver (a special voluntary payment scheme) does that mean the agent gets a £5 and £10 fine when they fall into arrears.

All agents need to see their MP's. apparently there was an agent in Scotland who objected to the £5 fines and she lost her job through it but her local Mp became involved and she ended up getting a pay out from the company .... and for those who dont know.... that is why your £5 fine was dropped .Now they have gone further, your MP's would be interested in what is happening and Provident dont like the goverment snooping around at some of their practices. I am no longer with the company but I wish you all well and can tell you that your Mp's are the ones who can put the screws on the fat cats that have no scrupels at all.0

Agents will lose £15 for each customer that is taken off their Agency and transferred to Head Office.
If that customer then clears their account via Head Office the Agent should be refunded, but that does not happen.
Not only do Provident profit from the customer, they also profit from the Agent by fining them £'s.0 -
due to this fine system if or when a customer cant pay their agreed weekly rate they will miss and in a few weeks or months they will have missed 5 payments and then 9 payments=a £5 and £10 fine for the collector/agent.
the way i see this fine system is that us agents are being forced to lend the customer more money and pay the old arrears loan off- if that isnt irresponsible lending i dont know what is!
a few weeks ago my dm gave me a sheet written by ian bailey, it explains a new agent manual which basically means that agents have to provide 52 weeks cover and in august the company carried out a survey to help it decide how to comply with the legal requirements, it says that ''an impressive 99% of agents responded'' and we will be asked to sign an addendum to our agreement.
i must be the 1% of the 99% as i wasnt asked!
i asked 6 others at my office and not 1 of them were asked!
can i ask if any agents were asked about this? or is it another way for provident to change our contract and try and make us feel good?0 -
We were not asked in our branch, we were TOLD that if any one of us refused to sign this document then no-one in the branch could work. Many of us asked if we could take it home to study before signing as none of us were comfortable with putting our name to anything that twisted bunch produce but were told in no uncertain terms that it had to be signed there and then. There was no prior warning, no information available, just sign up and shut up or leave.
I have only one comment realy, "Hail Crookey", the Gestapo rides again.0 -
my dm gave me the addendum to sign and said ''its nothing important''
i signed it because i will take days off when i want to and not tell anyone apart from the customers on that day.
can any online agents remember being asked?0 -
why do you put up with it? go see your MP and get them to deal with it...I know you will have a quiet life if you do . Provi uses bullying tactics and their managers are trained that way so stand up to the bullys. Its your contract you have a right to read it before you sign . Isnt it a fact that your customers now have to sign a document before they get a loan saying that they know what the loan is all about. (isnt that one of the latest tactics?) Surely you too have a right to read first.I worked for Provi for a while but got out of that mess .I have watched with interest all the comments on here and wonder why on earth all these disgruntled agents dont do something. You know if you went to your MP he does it all for you and it doesnt coost you anything.
Provi managers are all clones ...they are programmed to think the same and they all have stock answers ...try asking them a question that doesnt fit in the box and they are stuck . They are all a bunch of misfits that would never be classed managerial material anywhere else . Come on the agents, get a backbone and stnd up for yourselves0 -
