Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

I was 23, my now wife was 20. We bought a two bed flat in 1994 for £36K and sold it in 2006 for £85K. Amazingly in 2004, it wasn't even worth what we originally bought it for.
I'd hate to be a twenty something trying to buy now but even back then we were mortgaged to the hilt but scraped by for the first year or two.0 -
I was 20, hubby 23. We bought our first flat for 44k in 1996.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

We bought our first house 1998, I was 25 and my wife was 24. We sold our second house in 2008 in order to relocate and are currently renting while house prices crash. -7% crash YOY in Lincoln, this is more than I am paying in rent so I'm essentially living for free. I wonder how much prices will drop in the coming year? I hope that young adults will soon be able to buy a home before they reach 25 like we were able to.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I was 25, and done it on my own, it's a very small mid-terreace house, mine and next door are the smallest in the steet. It was the house at that time I could afford, and I'm happy here.
As my signature reads, the kitchen and bathroom needs upgrading, so does the bedroom to the fact, but I can't be bothere to save for that.
I didn't buy a house to make a profit in the future, I did it not to pay someone's elses mortgage by renting.
22 years left til mortgage is paid off.0 -
