You could try this for something different!!!

Not sure how moneysaving it is but you could have a go if you have most of the ingredients indoors!! Good luck

Mousakka if you're in the mood to cook.

I had lamb burgers last night - fried some minced onion, garlic and dried rosemary, mixed with the lamb, served with brown rice and green beans. Smashing.
  • No harm in making spag bol with lamb mince. All the other ingredients & herbs will go well with lamb. :)

  • Lamb curry:

Brown minced lamb with garlic, onion. Add curry spices (dried or from a jar) and some water. Cook slowly for about 1 hour. Add plain yoghurt and peas (I use frozen). Serve with rice, naan and salad.

  • How about a bolognaise sauce made with lamb? Put into a dish, cook some pasta shapes and add to the top.
Top the whole lot off with a cheesy sauce and bake in the oven. I tried this once when I had to have a 'use the things in the fridge' meal and it went down very well. :)

How about some cannelloni? Delia has a nice recipe and I have used lamb mince for them before.

    Hiya,

I need some inspiration. I have defrosted a 250g bag of lamb mince but haven't cooked with it before. Any suggestions for what to cook for tea - I am hoping for something a bit more exciting than shepherds pie (we had cottage pie last week!)

    Thanks!!

I make a lovely James Martin moussaka recipe. You would need an aubergine but you could substitute with a few sliced courgettes, I suppose.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/moussaka_71985.shtml

I also use a lamb stock cube, instead of a chicken stock cube. This recipe is really tasty.

Edited to say, you would have to juggle the recipe a bit, if you only have 250g and not 450g. I sometimes chop up some of the aubergine or courgette and mix it in with the mince, which then makes it go further, as the mince is quite rich, being lamb

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
