    I guess 20 MMS messages?

"unlimited texts" + "20 SMS messages" makes no sense really.
  • Meant MMS - post edited. Doesn't really matter - the point I'm making is that a better deal can be had just by making a phone call. The worst that can happen is you'll stay on your current tariff for the time being. (The phone call to customer services is free from an 02 phone - dial 2302).

i called o2 today and got offered iphone 4 24 month contract at £42 a month....(way more mins than i would ever use)

or iphone 4 at £32 a month, with the cost being just over £200 but could easily bring it down to £150.

or the latest HTC Desire S? at 24 pouds a month for 24 months...

all have loads of mins, text and internet....

    anyone offered anything better?

but i could potentially downgrade once to the next tarrif below after 9 months with any o2 contract?

Have you a phone to trade in? If you can offset that against your handset price then you can negotiate a better contract

Well even though I still don't get why they allowed you out of your contract early, you've made a decent saving... plus the paperwork matches the verbal offer, which isn't always the case.

Alot of the time I think getting a good deal depends on the agent. Some CS staff are more helpful than others, and obviously it depends on how you speak to them. Also there have been loads of posts about O2 being very stubborn lately, not least their retentions team.
Anyway, as long as you're happy that's the main thing :)

Cheers Mezzo - definately agree with you, it's the lottery of who picks up the phone. Jay - the lady I spoke with was brilliant - refuse to speak with anyone but her and you're on to a winner ;)
