stingebag versus a fool and his money

Hi everbody:).
"someday soon" - purchasing an iron to celebrate my 90 something mortgage is about as rock n roll as it gets these days - how very sad am I;).
Must say that "a fool" had a bit of a lightbulb moment yesterday evening. He was watching the news about the impending energy price increases and declared that we will have to watch what we are doing energy wise as prices are rocketing. I have never ever ever in the 25 years plus I have known him heard him speak about dosh in that manner - I secretly smirked to myself and agreed forth with:rotfl:. Me thinks that there may be hope for my darling fool after all:j.
Anyway, continuing my rather sensible run of making my own lunch for work this week and not being lead into temptation by the scrummy bakery that is just begging me to go and scoff its totally delicious wares.....we will see how long that lasts;).
Have a pleasant day, Stingebag. x:)0 -
Well....sort of a good news:j....bad news morning:mad:.
Good news is received my secret password to view my Northern Rock mortgage account....and guess what it actually works:).
(Sorry Froggy G but mine actually does what it says on the tin);).
Bad news is a I can now see that Northern Rock have not followed my instructions (yet again) and are allocating overpayments to the wrong part of my mortgage....grrrrr:mad::mad::mad:.
Moral of the story is always check online that they are actually following through my instructions even though they say the right things and are most pleasant....they are indeed not listening one bit:mad:.:mad:.
I will get there in the end I guess but it's not even a misunderstanding of my accent because I'm North Eastern myself so sort of speaka the lingo;).
Anyway rant over.....got a lovely treat planned for the weekend with my clan. Off to the theatre to see Jungle Book on tickets purchased for the pricely sum of £2 each ( price supported by A Fool's employer). Gonna smuggle my own sweeties and drinks in - probably much to the horror of A Fool......but as First Born say "What ever"!!!.:D
Have a lovely weekend. Stingebag. x;)0 -

Good morning - hope everybody's fine and dandy
Had a lovely weekend and quite a thrifty one at that:).
Managed to sneak in a stash of sweeties and drinks to my theatre evening much to the distaste of A Fool;) but first born and baby boy were well happy:D. Got caught out with having to buy ice creams buy but hey ho can't have it all ways;).
Went shopping to Mr A with first born on Sunday and she was quite good with resisting the temptation to put goodies in my trolley:D. On the other hand she was totally appauled when I started picking up disgrarded till receipts to check for any potential cash back vouchers - not cool to teenage types me thinks:rotfl:
Have a nice week, take care - stingebag. x0 -
Ohh dear, think they may be trouble ahead:cool:.
My lovely fool has been wamping on about how much he would really really lurve his BMW right now.....good things come to those who wait:).
Wish me luck.....again (my wings are like a shield of steel);).0 -
How about telling fool that he can have his BMW when he puts the same amount of money into the mortgage?
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I did that in the cinema with a girl I've started to see!
She is similar to me though about it all and cant see the point of paying £4 for a bag of popcorn. I bought drinks, popcorn, chocolate, snacks which would have cost me at least £15-£20 all for under a fiver

:wave:Morning all:wave:
Just checked online with my mortgage account and NR have adjusted my payments as per my original request:D.
Have decided to take one day at a time with my overpayments, nice and slow coz my head is being battered with graphs and facts and figures. Got enough pressure in my life I guess as a working mum and a carer for an elderly parent, so have decided to take small bites at a time by concentrating on a quarterly target:). If I make them then great:), if I dont then it's not the end of the world;).
Have a lovely day and by the way I am still resisting the temptation of that gorgeous bakery calling my name:j.
Take care, stingebag:p0 -
