    I did
Me too. I figured out you only needed to enter three characters in the old Tesco Price Check comparison with Asda thing, so I entered common three letter combos (est, ers, sta, etc.) to get a lot of data back and then dumped the results into Excel to find the best deals. Is that what you did?

I've just released an app on the Android Market that I wrote and have been using for the last few days to help me calculate how much I am spending (so I can use a previous voucher) and how much DTD is to avoid going over £20.

You can search the Asda website when entering purchases to confirm the price hasn't changed and also view the spreadsheet to get inspiration if your intended purchases have sold out.

It's free and there's no adverts just a link in the menu to my other apps.

It's not pretty but I find it very useful and figured others may too.

You can find it and see screenshots by searching for "DTD Calculator" on the Android Market or on the Android Market web site. I've kept the description quite sparse because the app is only really going to useful to us lot. Unfortunately I can't put a web link to the Android Market here because I don't have enough posts. If you have any problems finding it send me a message and I'll send you the link.

Any feedback would be great. Hope it is ok to post this and it's the right place.

Will it work on iPhone or Windows mobile, if so that would be brilliant (unfortunately I don't have access to an Android phone, but a fantastic development that I suggested a few days ago when I had my funny head on, didn't realise someone was actually working on one!).

arghhh wasn't online last night - have to read this one- anyone remember the time/page number for this discussion?

    thanks!

It's nothing to worry about. We don't even know if it's true. And if it is true, there was either a reason for it or it was a manager using the infamous Tesco-ism! ;)

:eek::eek: Didn't see the original post but is that someone who feeds their cat dog food? I've always been told by vets that dogs can eat cat food but to never ever let a cat eat dog food!

I'm now worrying... my cat only has dry food with the odd table scrap... it sounds like I should start giving her wet food once a week right? She is 11 and has recently been having digestion problems (started being sick every time she ate)... vets put her on a special dry sensitive diet which seemed to work but can't afford that in the long run so have switched her to Whiskas senior and she seems better but still seems stressed when she has to use her litter tray! :(
Yes it was someone feeding their cat dog food and the dog eating the cat food. Cats are complete carinivores, unlike dogs who are partial omnivores. Good quality dry food is absolutely fine for cats, and will have all the vital neutrients they need, but as I mentioned to avoid bladder stones a wet meal a week is recommended. (I sell pet foods, so spend my life reading constituent labels, researching diets for customers etc lol). FWIW, i dont sell IAMS!!!)

A lot of older cats start to get digestive issues, so do dogs, so do we I guess, good on you for getting your kitty the best help she can and trying to sort her probs :)

This might sound daft. But even though I 'help' with the spreadsheet. I just jot down my bits on a bit of paper too. :o:rotfl:

Yep, me too! Thank you to everyone who contributes to the SS and to those who post the great deals. Thanks so much!!

Excuse me?...have I come to the right place, I thought this was the Tesco/Asda Pricechecker Thread?

All I have read for 4 pages is people getting at each other and being b1tchy!

enough is enough now, come on people, what is the point?

I strongly feel that access to the spreadsheet should be ''PAID FOR'', if anyone who wanted to have access for say 30 days, paid a £1.00 fee on a site like justgiving and all the money went to Cancer research, it would stop all this bickering and raise cash for a good cause?

Just a thought....anyway, where are those vouchers?! :T
  • Pen and paper for me, sometimes have a browse of the spreadsheet (which is great for everyone that uses regularly or occasionally like me), remember what people have said has worked or doesn't, then usually go to Tesco and it all falls to pieces as I've done it 'on the fly'. But I know what I can rely on to make up my shop and ultimately it's all free usually (aside from the odd boo-boo I've made but you've gotta roll with the punches).

I know it's all about maximising things but all I want to do is have some beers and wine ready for the summer, non-perishables to reduce my weekly shop when it all ends and the odd treat or two like a mullerrice or magnum in the fridge/freezer.

Does this technique work - hell yeah! Is it free - hell yeah! Am I (and should others IMO be happy about how this loophole is working) - hell yeah!

    Just wondering...

I wombled 2 receipts that were screwed up and chucked in my trolley. They were dated 22 and 27 March, both had clubcard and credit card details. Should I chuck them away or is it worth submitting them under a new email address?
Please God, help me stop spending!
