I used my very first voucher this morning...what a terrible experience!

The man on the checkout shouted over to the manager who came storming over. They then spent a couple of minutes pouring over it while I went bright red.

The stroppy checkout manageress then said "this isnt valid as the details aren't the same.." she was talking about the 24 hour clock....

then about 5 of them had a conversation about whether they were vaild or not, then they voided my shop and sent me over to Customer services who had to put it all through again. The same checkout manageress served me over there and I was so embarrased by this point I mumbled "Dont bother I wont use the voucher then" so she said "Ok thats alright then" and asked me for the full amount....then i got a bit cross and thought I should be more assertive and said "actually no, I do want to use the voucher" then someone else came over and told her to just put it through.

Whole process took about 15 minutes!

what an embarrasment.....made me feel like a criminal, but I had got the 20 voucher from a genuine weekly food shop with some kids clothes thrown in...not even a deliberate DTD shop!!

Anyone else had an experience like this?? I have another £5.20 voucher to spend but Im scared to go back now!

    Lets analyse what they did wrong;

Firstly - voiding the shopping from the till - wrong - they should have saved the bill, which could then be recalled at any till or at CS desk.

Second - not knowing the 12hr/24hr problem after 4 weeks of the scheme running

Thirdly - trying to get out of it by making you fell so bad that you almost gave up and paid the full amount, OMG

Lastly - For being totally bloody incompetent and untrained.:mad:

PLEASE PLEASE use your £5.20 voucher without any bad feeling, YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG, just stand your ground and perhaps take a printed copy of the T&C's with you in case they are still troublesome.:)

I did read a long while back that the reference at head Office regarding the 12hr debacle is TES9383414X so get them to call that before suggesting you are a forger!!
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

This might sound daft. But even though I 'help' with the spreadsheet. I just jot down my bits on a bit of paper too. :o:rotfl:

    Me too!!!!!!!!
  • cmon guys, enough said about the spreadsheet now, in simple terms, its there to be used to our advantage, and if it dont suit you or you dont like it/want it, then dont use it.. simple.

lets draw a line, kiss n make up eh?

It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Alas i was called lazy for making a suggestion and rightly defended myself. It seems theres just one user on her high horse though lol :).

If someone called you lazy would u be happy when you made a suggestion? oO

    It wouldn' bother me because

    a) I don't care what people think of me
    b) I am LAZY

Yeah im old school as well using the SS as a guide, check A & T websites, then list written down for shop :D
    Shop one - A vs T
    Shop two - A vs W
    And then repeat :j:j:j
    & now add - A vs S
What the heck A vs the world :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My husband and i for the first ttime yesterday were really worried doing our dtd shop. He went off and got toothpaste and two bottles of wine while i had my cleaning products , coke list. we have now decided we are not going to do the £20 shops anymore and just do smaller ones for the items tesco are paying you to have. maybe split the shopping into three or something. this isnt good for my nerves hearing people have been shouted at , threatened to be banned and even police called. my other half is the police and he went a bit bonkers when i read that post to him. lost my nerve? yes i think i have a bit.

arghhh wasn't online last night - have to read this one- anyone remember the time/page number for this discussion?

all this stuff about the spreadsheet, I'm thinking I'm in the minority that just reads the current version and uses pen and paper to make my list, or cut/paste into notepad and works it all out that way...no sorting or whatever, just old fashion searching and hand notes ....and I didn't even realise the format had changed and whichever format I looked at, I love it ...thanks for all the hard work guys.

Ohhhh, I never thought of that! Thanks...
