Call me sad, but being in the Military and as we are all getting made redundant, i had a trawl thru this 4th thread of the Tesco/Asda pricechecker. We are currently upto 3990 and of all the threads only 226 give any info on groceries that have been compared!

What have we become where we are all !!!!!ing and complaining about others greed, if the spreadsheet is in the right wrong format if the prices are the wrong colour! etc.

Surely as this is a money saving site we should talk/post about areas where we can save the most money with the least spend.

I take my hat of to those who maintain the spreadsheet, and will quite happily go with the flow and accept whatever colour you make it!

Many thanks to all those who have given positive comments and pointers to items where the difference is for the good.

Standing by for all the incoming!!!!

  • Any good deals on phones? I am feeling a little out of date with my handwritten shopping lists? My basic nokia is a little out of date!!!
I am starting to wonder why I am still doing this?

sorry if it came across that way but it's just i couldn't use the downloadable one before & i was told to make a copy with my google email address (i think it may have even been by you) :o which was the only way it would work & i think a lot of other people found it useful :)
i do appreciate people doing this so i'm definitely not ungrateful & i give info when i can too :)

Not sure if this has been mentioned, as I'm just catching up on the thread, and will have to go soon, but the live version of the ss is a lot easier to copy and paste into a word document or something to create your shopping list. Paste (Special) as unformatted text and it'll leave out the cells etc. HTH
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I used 2 DTD vouchers yesterday in different transactions with no problem, wasn't even asked about the receipt.Expecting 2 new vouchers today and then more shopping tomorrow.Very happy!

not sure if this is relevant, but when i popped into Ts last night, the sel on dishwasher tabs was pushed in vertically instead of horizontally behind the plastic strip. does this mean they are about to change price do you think?
also i note that someone posted about the lamb going down in price on the 18th... that must have been the day the sa said when i found those legs she said had probably been put out by mistake...

i too use the spreadsheet as a quick recheck then i recheck asda and tesco own sites.. and then use a pen and paper :)

Pen and paper for me, sometimes have a browse of the spreadsheet (which is great for everyone that uses regularly or occasionally like me), remember what people have said has worked or doesn't, then usually go to Tesco and it all falls to pieces as I've done it 'on the fly'. But I know what I can rely on to make up my shop and ultimately it's all free usually (aside from the odd boo-boo I've made but you've gotta roll with the punches).

I know it's all about maximising things but all I want to do is have some beers and wine ready for the summer, non-perishables to reduce my weekly shop when it all ends and the odd treat or two like a mullerrice or magnum in the fridge/freezer.

Does this technique work - hell yeah! Is it free - hell yeah! Am I (and should others IMO be happy about how this loophole is working) - hell yeah!
    Hell yeah ditto:T
    Shop one - A vs T
    Shop two - A vs W
    And then repeat :j:j:j
    & now add - A vs S
What the heck A vs the world :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Just wondering...

I wombled 2 receipts that were screwed up and chucked in my trolley. They were dated 22 and 27 March, both had clubcard and credit card details. Should I chuck them away or is it worth submitting them under a new email address?

    Submit them!!!
