no i'm not i'm a mother to 2 children with asd so time to sort out my shopping list is very short for me so this worked well
there is no need to get personal & insult people just because they ask why something has changed :(

No one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to do DTD shopping, at least I hope not! Perhaps if you don't have time then you don't do it?

I agree that they seem ungrateful but the comment about being an only child is a bit presumptious and uncalled for, talk about stereotyping people, is everyone that's an only child lazy & ungrateful, comments like this dont help

Oh FGS take it for what it was meant to be and let's not blow this out of proportion please.

Some right grumps on here this morning.....did you all get out of the wrong side of the bed? ;)

Just a quick bit of advice, you should always check everything on Asda's site before you go shopping. If something has changed overnight and noone has noticed then you could buy something that there is no longer any DTD on. This is what happened with the treasure eggs when Asda raised the price for one day only. Noone noticed and lots of people were caught out.

I've got such a small place I can only buy what I need but I use this to check to see if the brand I'm buying is a better deal than the one in store. I consider the DTD as a hidden deal.

I hope that doesn't make me sound daft.

thanks for the advice thou, I shall bear that in mind this afternoon.

    1. Take a pen.
    2. Take a piece of paper.
    3. Go through the SS and note down the items that are cheap enough for you.
    4. Perhaps you'd like us to do your shopping for you while you're being so lazy?

    Oh my god.

Yes lets in the 21st century take a pen and a piece of paper.... when as i have excel i can simply download the spreadhseet select all the information go to data -> Sort -> Sort by Column L (in ascending)

and Voila done in 10 seconds.

I hardlty call using my brain being lazy? or should i go through 700 lines manually or about 30 lines once they are sorted.

I mean i understand where you comig from but you not talking to some idiot.. i was simply pointing out this operation cannot be done now because you are using merged cells.... whereas it was possible before. I can obviously extract the data myself and here i will prove it.

Now next time you want to bring out the epeens I will gladly partipate in any competition on IT competency... I work as an engineer and excel is a piece of !!!!.

For anyone else who wants the rest ordered by 'savings' give me a hollar for the 'lazy' people.

Some people need to get off their high horse... just cause you can coble together an excel spreadsheet doesn't make you god lol.
  • I'd just like to say I think the spreadsheet is fantastic and saves us lazy folk hours of trawling through the HUGE Tesco web site looking for deals ourselves.
I say a BIG THANK YOU to all the administrators working on the sheet!!! :T:T:T:T:T

I would be willing to help work on and update the spreadsheet. Is this possible?

I, for one, am very very grateful for the spreadsheet, in whatever form, and can't believe that some people are moaning that it 'doesn't work for them'. Yes it was easier previously to download and make a shopping list from, but if it is used in the manner that it is meant to be - a guide, then it should work for everyone.
My sincere thanks go to the people that are so selflessly using their own time to update the spreadsheet- without them you would have to get off your !!!, trawl hundreds of posts to see what other people have found works for dtd, and then make your own spreadsheet/shopping list.

Very well said. I too appreciate the speadsheet being there to help me. I have only done 2 shops so far, but being a newbie to all this, it helped me to get a grasp on how it should be done. Thanks to all involved

I don't know about wrong thread, I was thinking more wrong forum. If he/she is only ever going to critise the way people are saving money, then surely they have soooo much that they are not interested, therefore this forum really isn't for them. Clues in the name "MONEY SAVING expert"

exactly, this freezer that i am filling with 'free' food, will last us quite a while. and that means not having to spend as much on weekly shops, so for the for seeable future, we will be better off. also the ice creams, i will actually probably buy more! thinking they will be nice over the summer, so some of this stuff will last months if we dont go mad. also combine this with all the houshold products etc, our shopping bill will definately benefit. hoping to have a few nice days out over the summer as a result

Try to get your cat to eat at least some cat food. Cats need Taurine, there's none in dog food... she might be okay now, but not as she ages without it. Also if you feed only dry, get her to eaty one wet food meal a week, to avoid bladder stones ;)

I mostly give my cats dry food with the odd meal of wet food, but recently, I have spoiled them with tuna and pork (thanks Mr T) and I read on thread 3 that a poster gave their cats Princes Wild Red Salmon (again thanks Mr T!) and the cats walked away!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Now debt free and working towards saving my 1st £1000!
